New coral question - Anyone keep Cynarina corals? Similar to Acanthrophyllia or Indophyllia?

Essentially, which are easiest to keep - Cynarina, Acanthrophyllia, Indophyllia, Wellsophyllia or Scolly?

I have the super hot SBB Trachy/Welso and want to add a few of the other big LPS to the new tank eventually.

I have cynarina. They're like meat coral. low flow and light. I had never had indophyllia, but it's very similar to meat and cynarina. I also have a rainbow welso. Be careful if you have tangs and keep a trachy or welso because they are known to nip at it. I keep my welso in a cage. They all love to be target feed

That's what I was wondering, if adding dead is just adding pollutants.
Yes and no, technically yes you are but youre adding food no less. Reef roids is just dried phyto IIRC. Obv. You want to dose live phyto if youre paying for live phyto but you likely wont harm your tank if youre finishing up a bottle thats so/so.

My tangs killed my scolys by way of nipping, but i think thats them trying to clean the algae off the skeleton, then realizing the flesh is also a snack. I dont think theyd mess with a bigger meat type but hard to say.

No tangs in the LPS tank but there is a Copper Banded Butterfly. Hasn't nipped at any of the corals (acan, blasto, button scolly, euphilia) yet so I am hopeful.

Sounds like they are all about the same care level then. Thank you.

This makes perfect sense. I make the BRS coral food recipe and one of the ingredients is freeze dried phyto.

I dunno. If the phyto smells like death to me I toss it. But then, I usually burn thru it and it doesn’t have a chance to get that far.

I do. I keep an acantho next to a cynarina and an indophyllia. They are identical to care for. I have all mine on a shelf rock directly on sand bed.
