Sounds like extra cleaning work.No. I bought some refrigerator trays with slits and modified it to fit the welso. If I didn't have it, my sailfin smells blood and would be an expensive snack

so purdy. I would love to get more welso and trachy, but I would have to get rid of my BIG sailfinSBB Purple Monster still looking sexy
It is not too bad, but it's my only option if I want to keep welso and sailfin in same tank.Sounds like extra cleaning work.
Yeah. It's an innovative Marine 200 ext. It's going to take some man power.^^^ This
Also suggest getting a set of suction cups to help with positioning.
I had our 230 delivered by the LFS we bought it from. They carried it from the van through a set of French doors then used 2 floor dolly inside and rolled it to the living room. Tank is 30" wide so it was tight at an interrior doorway.
When they got it to the stand we lifted off the dollys and up on to the stand. Took 4 of us and some good suction cups.
Spin/swirl the bottle, don't shake violently as that can break down the cells. I flip the bottle and swirl it. Look to see if it settles right away, if it does, it is likely dead. Ocean Magic is a blend, and I'm sure some strains might settle more than others. For you phyto users - is this dead and should be thrown away?
People are picky about this, but I think dead phyto to a certain point can be dosed. We dose dry plankton like Reef Roids. I'd just not do it if it smells terribly like death as bacteria could be growing. That's what I was wondering, if adding dead is just adding pollutants.
I think acanthos are super easy, just pricey which is why less people have them. Here is mine. My cynarina is hard to photograph as it is under a ledge, they like much less light in my opinion.New coral question - Anyone keep Cynarina corals? Similar to Acanthrophyllia or Indophyllia?
Essentially, which are easiest to keep - Cynarina, Acanthrophyllia, Indophyllia, Wellsophyllia or Scolly?
I have the super hot SBB Trachy/Welso and want to add a few of the other big LPS to the new tank eventually.
Yup. Id toss something if i left it out and it outright went bad, but backend of a well refrigerated bottle i never tweak about.People are picky about this, but I think dead phyto to a certain point can be dosed. You can leave them in the jar until they hatch and then just dump the jar in.@Kasrift . What do I do if I find egg spiral when I get the nudis in the jar tomorrow.
No air pump? and how long until hatchingYou can leave them in the jar until they hatch and then just dump the jar in.
Dang... With my kids opening and closing the fridge door I'd have what looks like a shamrock shake after a week ...Spin/swirl the bottle, don't shake violently as that can break down the cells. I flip the bottle and swirl it. Look to see if it settles right away, if it does, it is likely dead. Ocean Magic is a blend, and I'm sure some strains might settle more than others.
As a pro tip, I put my phyto bottles on the fridge door, that way they move anytime I open the fridge. I always swirl them in the morning and before I go to bed. Probably one other time throughout the day as well.
We must stop the coral-on-coral violence. That thing is pretty but dang.I think acanthos are super easy, just pricey which is why less people have them. Here is mine. My cynarina is hard to photograph as it is under a ledge, they like much less light in my opinion.
Scolies are touchy. I've tried one and it didn't like flow or something. On my second one right now, but it is in the 10g frag tank. Oh, and this one that was sold as an acan Maxima that I wasn't sure what it was, I think it's acanthanstrea pachysepta https://reefbuilders.com/2019/10/01/acanthastrea-pachysepta-your-orange-lobo-is-most-likely-an-acan/#:~:text=Acanthastrea pachysepta is a reclassification, than any other typical Lobos.
It has murdered every that gets within 3 inches of it by extending messenterial filaments.
The acan above it was just a skeleton one morning. I put a different frag there, same thing. I'm apparently a slow learner so I moved a different frag there, same thing.
Nice light, I have one of a 40 gallon, thought I would need 2 but it lights it up well enough except the edges, but it's perfect for low light corals over there. In the center I can really pump out the par.I just ordered the noopsych k7 pro for the 22 gallon.
No air pump. Check out this YouTube Video of ReefDudes breeding berghia, he puts them in a jar with a closed lid . I have them in a tank with a heater and a pump. If I recall correctly, 7 days or so for them to hatch. Just make sure it stays kind of warm, that is why I mentioned just resting the jar on the lid/top of the tank so the lights heat it up.No air pump? and how long until hatching
Aptasia die lol thats funnyNo air pump. Check out this YouTube Video of ReefDudes breeding berghia, he puts them in a jar with a closed lid . I have them in a tank with a heater and a pump. If I recall correctly, 7 days or so for them to hatch. Just make sure it stays kind of warm, that is why I mentioned just resting the jar on the lid/top of the tank so the lights heat it up.
Also for other information since I've already researched it to death, apparently aptaisia isn't invincible and does need flow. I've contemplated whether or not adding a small aptaisia in the jar to ship berghia would help them not starve, but I don't want the aptaisia to just die and slime and foul the water.
