I saw that as well, but the spectrum is kind of trash.

Vipar is 1:1:1 420, 450, 470.

The philzon is like 1:12 410, 470

I didn't really look, just popped up when browsing. I just think the 165w vispar are too heavy on the white channel. Wish they still had the 300w panels, they were heavier on the blue.

I put one frozen mysis cube, pull after an hour, and then leave all night.

I had the best luck with the rectangle trap with larger holes
I liked the rectangle trap best also. Small enough you could put several around the tank.

Maybe our tanks are not as overran with bristleworms as we think.

They are good detritivores and snacks for hungry wrasse. I'm shocked that the one I posted hasn't gotten snapped up yet. Tequila loves them

Okay everyone. It looks like it’s panic time. Trying to stay calm but this doesn’t look good. Just noticed it since I got back from my trip. This is the top center ledge in my tank. The center coral is a WWC Ice Breaker and was a pearly white colony. It’s dead and whatever killed it is spreading to the colonies around it.

Ideas on what it might be and how to stop it. If I have to, that top rock is removable. It has 8 big colonies on it, but hoping I can stop this, whatever it is.

Need some help here.

By the looks of it, it looks bacterial.

Okay. Bugs, warfare and bacterial. Three options so far. The blackish area around the center coral is the dying red one. It had completely encrusted underneath the Ice Breaker. The idea of warfare makes a lot of sense to me. I’ve been having to trim that area a lot because they kept stinging each other. Maybe all out warfare started.

This was last month. You can see the red encruster completely under the white colony.

Warfare could have weekend it and made it susceptible to something...could just be warfare..who knows.

I will say the only time ive seen that black show up, in my limited experience, was with tin at toxic levels. It was bizzare.

Did it show up in a localized area, or throughout the tank.

Edit: My ICP last month did not show elevated tin.

It was like 1 colony at a time. I get that its diff than what you got cause its localized to that area, and since you were out of town we didnt get to seee the progression on that first colony you lost.

I lost two rainbow sherbet small mothers, a dippin dots, a daydream, and a bill murray. I had other rainbow sherbets and 1 murray live. No dups of dippin dots or day dream.

I suspect it isnt your issue, but this also doesnt look run of the mill and would want to ICP ASAP just to rule out contaminants as you troubleshoot bacteria/pests.
