Vipars layout channel 1 is 420 450 470 for the blue channel. Run that channel by itself for 2 years with no color issues.

Chanel 2 is the whites
Whites= cool white, neutral white, red, green

Side note I saw Phlizon has a 300w unit now.

I guess the point is...reds and pinks have always been fine
When peak comes on, ill cut out my 400 and 435 LEDs. Ill cut my 450 and 470 in half and measure PAR. That would essentially turn the reefi into a vipar and i can then see how much par comes from the 3 other channels and deduce a rough idea what impact that has to the spectrum.

I have some pinks and alot of reds, but the reds are mostly deep, and the pinks are just slight hints. Infact ima take a pic how i normally do and then a pic under vipar spectrum right now.

I have had the colonista snails before that look like baby trochus. These went away after about a year.

The new ones I an seeing are smaller and solid white/beige. These just started. I will need to get a picture.

Cleaning out the MP40s is no big deal. The issue is when they start to collect around the strainer for the siphon drain. This alters the flow just enough to make me have to adjust the gate valve more often than I should.
Good info. Just looked them up. Could very well be what I’m seeing. I’ve never seen them up by the overflow. I think if they got in it, the filter socks would catch most of them before they could get to the return pump. Very seldom do I let the filter sock overflow from being clogged.

Okay everyone. It looks like it’s panic time. Trying to stay calm but this doesn’t look good. Just noticed it since I got back from my trip. This is the top center ledge in my tank. The center coral is a WWC Ice Breaker and was a pearly white colony. It’s dead and whatever killed it is spreading to the colonies around it.

Ideas on what it might be and how to stop it. If I have to, that top rock is removable. It has 8 big colonies on it, but hoping I can stop this, whatever it is.

Need some help here.

Hmmm....no way to really separate them. Could try dipping that whole rock in kcl dip. Hard to tell what's what. Maybe it's just warfare and that center acro was fed up with its neighbors...I dunno

Do an ICP immediately. Check for pests. Anything that would nip while you were out and maybe not fed as much? Maybe nutes got low and that was too much par without enough food?

He's the biggest I've seen so far in the tank. Hoping I'll start seeing the micro brittle stars soon to. I've seen one but it hides most of the time

Tank was and is still showing everything dialed in. Did ICP last month and nothing bazaar. Had experienced friends feeding the tank and monitoring everything. Testing when I got back was normal.

Bugs or warfare may be the place to look. I should be able to get the rock out without breaking any of the colonies and dip the entire thing.

What's everyone baiting their bristleworms traps with 3 days at least 4 big ones. Tried mysis ..had some crab that worked for 2 worms.
I put one frozen mysis cube, pull after an hour, and then leave all night.

I had the best luck with the rectangle trap with larger holes
