I am starting to see the same ones. What are they and where did they come from?

Also - how do I get rid of them?
Pretty sure they are baby trochus snails. I bought 10 medium sized truchus two years ago. They were one of the first things to go in the tank. It’s great cause I never run out of snails. I actually take the 4 MP40 power heads out every week and scrub them. Usually see 40-50 of those little snails go down the drain every time. I love them. Used to try and save them, but there’s so many I quit worrying about it. They help keep the glass clean. My cycle is the big trochus and turbo snails hit the glass in the evenings as the lights go down and every morning the glass is covered with all the babies. My version of those little scrubby bubbles.

@steveschuerger with 123 you will need floride. That is always low. I have a doser for you. Works better spread throughout day.
Ive found flouride to 100% be the difference in PE. I slowly dosed each of the elements i was low on per ICP. Focused on iodine, manganese, iron, zinc, vanadium and as soon as i made a correction from .6 to 1.5 flouride, all PE went from only at night to 24/7. Just an FYI to anyone wondering; pests first, flouride second IMO

So i think ive been running my reefis like an idiot. Bassically just running 100% all channels, and using the master slider to adjust intensity.

New plan is run the master at 100% and crank lime and amber, and bump UV higher than blue and royal blue. This will let me take advantage of the strong spectrum customization as well as see if i can excite the pink and red pigments in that 560-570nm range. See how the experiment goes.

I would place red in am and night sun up sun down more red. That's what I do.

Im running my entire spectrum in a bell curve like a standard day. Amber/green/cool white peak at midday, but i included amber/green across all thenl different periods. Bassically doubling my 500-600nm duration and intensity from where it was.

So far i like the look this AM. Looks alot sharper. Since reefi has PC Amber and Lime LEDs inactually dontnhave to worry about red at all. Infact warm white is the only LED im not using because of the red.

I have had the colonista snails before that look like baby trochus. These went away after about a year.

The new ones I an seeing are smaller and solid white/beige. These just started. I will need to get a picture.

Cleaning out the MP40s is no big deal. The issue is when they start to collect around the strainer for the siphon drain. This alters the flow just enough to make me have to adjust the gate valve more often than I should.

Watch your return pump they like to fit right in the holes before propeller and reduce flow.

Its the only thing i can think of. Since theres so few of amber and lime in the reefis, it explains why ive been lacking on the reds/pinks. Since theres alot of 400, 420, and violet LED im thinking ive been getting alot of par down low, and hardly any of that 500-600nm. Nearly all the other lights dont have that punch down low, so alot of the par comes from the 470 range which brings more 500-600 as a byproduct of making par with the higher wavelength blue diodes, which i was lighter on. Now i can target that specific 560-590 wavelength and keep my UVA.

Vipars layout channel 1 is 420 450 470 for the blue channel. Run that channel by itself for 2 years with no color issues.

Chanel 2 is the whites
