@jpshoemaker46 my current tank is hitting the 5yr old mark. I have suffered through a tank crash…which led me to letting the tank be for about 2yrs. I have lots of corals but lack the room to properly grow them out. I have a problem with buying all the pretty stuff! You’ll get there! But don’t be like me and over do it.
I will keep that it mind! Altho it’s hard not too!

The cool thing about corals is they fit in just about every tank aside from a few. The only thing that 40 keeps you out of is the bigger fish. A nano does allow you to get the smaller lost in a large system fish and appreciate them. So don’t be discouraged take advantage.
I love it so far! Right now I just want to get rid of the gha, tank was started in February

I took live rock from my lfs and the second I dropped it I a bristle worm fell out. I grabbed it with a glove stared at it for a sec and said meh. Let it go in. Go little guy. Welcome to the thunder dome. My flame hawk fish and 6 line would love to speak to you about your cars extended warranty

What eats bubble algae? I’m really fed up with the stuff lol

Someone said algaefix I may try that. But finding stuff that eats the stuff I don’t want is helpful
Careful with algaefix it’s same as revive. Which has a bad rep round here

That said, I used revive for bubble algae and it did work. Bubble algae is the most resistant of algaes and it did take 2 months of dosing before I started to make progress but it did fix the issue in 3 months

I hit my bubble algae infestation with a full dose of the 7000mg ReeFlux Rx which did a decent start and my Foxface has helped keep any that pop up in check for the most part with an occasional here and there mechanical removal

I have been slowly ramping up my lights on my tank. I'm 2 months into this tank. The ugly brown slime started yesterday. Should I just turn the lights back off? I don't have coral yet.

Update on the red sea nano reef mat. Went through half a roll in 3 days with heavy cleanings. It's working well and lots of junk. Yes this tank was extremely dirty. Filter socks were not cutting it.
