Update on the red sea nano reef mat. Went through half a roll in 3 days with heavy cleanings. It's working well and lots of junk. Yes this tank was extremely dirty. Filter socks were not cutting it.

Question with the Matt does it like, stink? Or by the time the roll rolls it’s kinda dried out?

Great question. My 120 has 2 reefmats on it 500s. When I had one it started to smell only on first two rolls but only when the roll was finished. If you do get smell. Cut it off and refeed roll into spindle. Simple as that.

Wife hated the noise at first two. The mini was going off every 2 min and would cut off at first needing reset. But it has calmed down a lot in the last day.

I keep seeing emeralds at the LFS I may just have to get one.

My Purple tang is an a. S. S. Adding a fox face may not go well….. that and the current tank is only a 75….even the 100G may not provide enough space for the purple, the tomini, and a fox face

Emeralds do a great job on bubble algae, but for your tank your gonna want to get a small army. Atleast for me they always found a territory of about 1 aq foot and stayed in thst area

Oh. My wife, she’s spoiled too. When the tank first started admittedly it did have a smell and she made sure every hour I knew it. That motivated me to drop a few hundred to fix some things lol
