Anyone have any cool hitchhiker crabs? I have one I think might be a bandit acropora crab, it's in my 2.5 gallon right now until I can figure out what it is.

@NatanylJames about 3 weeks ago you asked if anyone had berghia, I said I'd have some in about 2.5 weeks. Did you still need some?

i just got some berghia yesterday locally. i picked up a chalice today that i was thinking about cutting up and two of them were on the bottom with an egg spiral, i was excited to see them making themselves at home. and i carefully put the chalice back, saved from the chopping block for today.

Nope. Dinos and aiptasia beat me down. I’ve still got a lot of coral, but I can’t seem to get a win. Daily Aiptasia x and then berghia nudis later haven’t made a dent and the problem keeps getting worse. Nudis went in about 4 months ago I’d say and I haven’t seen them in months.

Nope. Dinos and aiptasia beat me down. I’ve still got a lot of coral, but I can’t seem to get a win. Daily Aiptasia x and then berghia nudis later haven’t made a dent and the problem keeps getting worse. Nudis went in about 4 months ago I’d say and I haven’t seen them in months.

Re: aptasia x; recommend switching to f-aptasia. Application is similar but it hardens over the aptasia (or zoa) which is helpful towards it releasing spores on death’s door. AptasiaX is infamous for exactly what you’re experiencing.

I've been breeding nudibranches, I have a queue but can help you out. You probably can't use that and F-aiptasia at the same time in a small tank like yours since the nudis will get nuked.

As for the dinos, try adding some bacteria. I never went through a dino phase in either my 32 gallon display or my 10g backup tank, but for whatever reason I had them in both of my 2.5 gallons I set up in December for nudibranch breeding. Just adding microbacter 7 didn't help, but I had Aquaforest Life Bio (bacteria socked media rocks) which I added in a media bag and Aquaforest Life Source and it got rid of the dinos in a week.

Little caveat on the Aquaforest Life source, it has black sand pieces in it which are magnetic. Since I didn't want that in the tank, I bought a powerful magnet on Amazon and then put the Life source in a small cup with tank water to thin it out and then use the magnet to keep the pieces in the cup and pour the rest in the tank.

Have you tried a filefish? Mine keeps my tank clear but he also eats any zoa I try to put in there

it’s not all about size @Kasrift. Mines big enough and well… I guess it’s got red algae and invasive anemones, hmm maybe I should see somebody about that.
