For anyone doing soft plumbing, I have absolutely no idea why people use vinyl. Silicone tubing is phenomenal. Soesnt collapse but super bendy and soft. Inert. I would never even think to use vinyl again after trying this stuff
Mind linking the silicone tubing you are using? IME it was too flimsy but as someone with a history of tin and vinyl tubing- you got me wondering.

I just went with Amazon, I needed 2 lengths in 3/4 ID ASAP so I had to get 2 different orders, of whatever was available:

I used it to T off my return and 3 drains for my frag system. If you do a crazy bend it will kink, but handles an "elbow" 90 without issue. I would have used it off the rip had I knew it was an option. Always thought it was hard or soft PVC only without really questioning it.

That or a wahoo. I did see a big bull try to steal one from me. That one I didn't. Was a phenomenal day today, usually a bit slower. Springs the best. Needed it.
I wanna go tuna fishing myself one of these days but finding a group is tough. Plus it’s like 600$ a person

If you ever go to kona Hawaii I spent a full day on the water with a local captain for $800 plus tip. Bite was so good we stayed out longer.

Most places beside the carribean/middle america, Hawaii, and FL have long runs to the fishing grounds, someone's gota pay for fuel lol.

Exactly why it’s expensive where I’m at. Long run to the grounds.

We usually go every few months with a group of guys that heavily partake in cigars. I swear more time is spent cutting and lighting than fishing haha

There was something I saw/heard somewhere about not using silicone tubing on (I think) drain lines. The reasoning was that when there's a vacuum it will collapse in on itself. I forget the specifics about it bc it didn't pertain to me but noted the advice. I want to say it was Ben Johnson from reef beef whilst on reefbum podcast. I'm not 100 on that nor if it was drain or return lines but figured I would throw that out there. It's fine on one and not the other.

Here is a fun little mushroom that I got from the long forgotten @woodyarmadillo who was sharing the SBB love. It is a little blurry because I didn't turn off flow, but it is bright and a fun color scheme.

Copy. I assume my emergency overflow would take over and break the vacuum? It's a lil 25ish gallon, I'll keep an eye but definitely something to note for a bigger tank.

fwiw they do make braided silicon or some kind of more rigid, was looking st grainger, that stuff was ungodly expensive. If I had more time to investigate and shop... so far so good, tank looked pretty good under blues this evening, waters super clear lol.
