It's hairy out here folks. Tanks consuming pretty good again. Alk dropped 1.8dkh over 36hrs. (9.5 to 7.7).

Still haven't done a 2nd big water change. Going to do that after work. Going to pull carbon. New fuge light installed, cuprisorbs been going strong. Cleaned out kalk sediment container.

Orange blast got fragged up as the daydream passed some nastiness onto it (they were touching).

LPS all seem OK. Elegance tentacles arent too puffy. Rubix Cube goni is extending this AM. Torches all seem good. SPS all had pretty good PE last evening. Doesnt seem like anything is continuing to decline except for what was already banged up bad.

Brought kalk and AFR back online. Feeding as normal. Nitrate was at 5, phos raised from .03 to .09. We swinging but nothing out of control.

Have a new trident test but going to save it, ATI coming wed/thurs so I can test RO.

How are you dosing kalk? I want to start now that I'm seeing noticeable dips in alk/calc. I'm looking at the avast kalk stirrer

When I dosed kalk I use a doser. Mixed a saturated solution and dispensed XX amount every hour.

Did you just dose from that container? Not from the bottom sediment. I have kalk, a free doser and some containers I could use. I'm concerned with dosing different levels of kalk this way and not using a stirrer

My hose was cut an inch shorter than the dos5 container. I mixed it in another jug let it settle then added it to the dosing container.

I refill it a few times and once it starts getting muck I clean the dosing container too.

I mix 5 gallons in a bucket and then pump it after it settles into a dog food container under my sump. Holds about 13 gallons. I then dose it every hour, with a jebao doser pump, using PTFE hosing clipped at a 45 degree angle. Airline tubing clogs really fast, PTFE does not. Been doing it for 2 years or so now.

I still used an ATO, used enough kalk to keep my alkalinity stable. At some point though you reach the maximum, you need a dose more kalk than evaporation
