I've had them accidently get dipped for a few minutes before and live. It stuns them but didn't kill them. The ones that went for 10-15 minutes didn't make it. They were astrea

@ryshark did you ever solve your tin issue from years back?
That was back in 2016 or 2017, and a different tank, so I’m having a hard time remembering. I think I finally gave up on battling it with water changes and frequent ICP and things eventually got better on their own. I believe it was leaching from my plumbing, or possibly the glass, if it was made on tin. Sorry I can’t remember the exact details, but I do remember transferring over some healthy acros from that tank to the next.

So far I've read a handful of people who tied frag tanks into their system and had the same issue. I did an ICP for craps and gigs, tin came back high. Saw your post in an old thread, thought I'd ask. Starting to see some adverse effects. Freaking out a little. Did 2 20% yesterday going to do a 40% today. Running carbon and have cupisorb coming tomorrow.

Appreciate it though.

Be ready with some trace additions as running both carbon and cuprisorb will strip the water of several elements in addition to tin

What pipes/tubes did you use for plumbing and is the tank glass or acrylic? My tank after the tank with tin, I remember scrubbing the walls of the new tank with white vinegar and then using PVC and tubing from BRS to avoid the tin a second time.

I was thinking the same thing. Running those heavy could create more issues and I’m not sure they even remove tin.
People report success, others don't. The biggest issue is finding root cause.

I'm pretty sure this frag tank was float glass, but it was used. I used Amazon braided nylon and PVC.

Whats really crazy is my buddy a few miles away did ATI. Had 6ug tin after DI and in tank. We had a massive watermain break, maybe it's the solder/welding from that. I have no idea at this point, tin shouldn't be in tap. He runs his tank alot different than mine, dosing/feeding/etc. Almost no commonality.

I'm watching some pieces melt, TSA day dream went up, a 2 year dormant jf fox flame, dippin dots looks like absolute crap. Bugs bunny. I'm just waiting for the first big colony at this point. In the midst of a legit crash right now.

Checked all magnets, do have some rusty screws on fuge light, most likely culprit right now. Vacuumed sump, checked for rogue metal or missing screws above the tank. Could be jebao wave maker in sump, frag tank, or jebao return pump those are all new equipment. Checked my utility pump for water transfer, in mostly good shape and doesn't sit in water. My nitrate is industrial grade but marketed 99%, I can't find anything indicating tin as a potential contaminants in sodium nitratem

Frag tank addition has been a total epic disaster. Hoping to hit water changes hard and pray its enough to salvage, worst part is I won't know for 2 weeks how much more is going to die, in addition to all the swings resulting from drastic measures. Rough.
