Short answer…..Yes. When mine run out of rock, they grow on the bottom.@billyocean - can you grow zoas on a glass bottom of the tank? I have a bunch growing up the back wall so I assume it would be the same.
I run the slurry without bacteria about once a month. Nitrates were <1 until I went no water change for 3 weeksI occasionally seed it in a calcium carbonate slurry.
