If you dose manually there is a calculator website. For my tank 1 tbsp is about .5 dkhGot the formula for baking soda and rodi? I feel ripped off spending $40 on a bottle of that from my lfs.

For higher ph carbonate solution (baked baking soda/soda ash) is 381 grams per gallon. Twice as potent as bicarb so you would dose half as many ml (roughly) for the alk addition.
That’s a lot better than $40 f’in dollars per container.
Will point out the thing I suggested will auto measure alk 6x a day and add exactly what’s needed to maintain the dkh you want.
Adding corals, growing corals, losing corals, all affects the dosing amount so if you use a timer doser you still need to check and tweak as needed

Jebao doser, same as Thuan. Works great, but you still have to test, but it helps keep things more stable.
Nope. I’m about to buy more Hanna Reagants now because I have only one left of phos and nitrate. I’m gonna need to do a test - weekly with the new coral to see the consumption levels and play with dosing. Not fun. However for 10 days that is an impressive drop to me.

@billyocean was a great teacher in helping me with dialing in my alk. Key is test, dose, test, and adjust accordingly. Keep in mind that alk consumption is less after lights goes out. This us my current schedule. I test a few tines each week and adjust accordingly

I think I paid like 250 for reef factory (it was on sale at BRS)
My alk is on my kamore does twice a day

I’m still trying to figure out extension but if colors are good and coral is growing I’m happy. Might be flow issue. Maybe too much for me

Okay. well. Temporarily I’m gonna have to ride without the saddle… but even just making that alk solution from scratch is helpful thank you all. I guess ill have to focus on dosers next before corals or whatever.
I used all for reef for a year and it worked well. Every 1-2 months I would need to adjust the dose amount due to increased alk consumption…but I add coral a lot. Very frequentlyWith only 15g, I was planning on only running all for reef and water changes instead of dosing. Think I need to dose?
