Ok so here's the details on alk went from 8.8 to 8.3 dkh while gone. Also new frags were taking off. So consuming more. You have it backwards. Lower than usual CO2 leads to higher pH and higher consumption. The additional consumption further raises the pH in addition to the increase from low CO2.*
Considering your co2 is lower, I would interpret a lower pH as something off, and potentially things consuming less.
I wouldnt blind dose in this situation personally - not saying you should or shouldnt.
Hell yeah bro, im getting ready to take off myself for a full week and im super stressing about the tank.Ok so here's the details on alk went from 8.8 to 8.3 dkh while gone. Also new frags were taking off. So consuming more.

Looks good. When I go on vacay in July, I need to leave my brother specific instructions. Clean my glass once a week. The first thing after a 9+ hrs direct flight home is to not be spending scraping the tank.Overall really good
My extremely limited experience anems can be like torches and just withdraw for no good reason. They can also act funny when splitting.Good morning all. Some weird happened before my eyes this morning. I was dosing the 2 part, and I don’t know if it got hit with a little too much Alk , but my original Black Widow has completely withdrawn into the hole in the rock where it’s been living. Other one is fine. I can juuust make out the tips in the hole.
That’s the funny part. It IS diluted. And it’s actually slowly coming back out. First time this has happened. And I hit high flow parts of the tank.My extremely limited experience anems can be like torches and just withdraw for no good reason. They can also act funny when splitting.
I dose everything into first chamber of the sump so it can dilute before getting up to display, if youre dosing display i strongly recommend not to so concentrated doses dont hit coral prior to diluting.
Have you got a camera set up for your tanks yet? Or do you video chat him to check on the tanks?Looks good. When I go on vacay in July, I need to leave my brother specific instructions. Even if its diluted your still putting in a localized huge amount of alk relative to 90 gallons of water depending on how many times per day you break up the dose. Your setup sumpless? No doser pump? That’s the funny part. It IS diluted. And it’s actually slowly coming back out. First time this has happened. And I hit high flow parts of the tank.
Lol i do a webcam in the sump to check water level, ATO, and skimmer, and a high def facing the display.Have you got a camera set up for your tanks yet? Or do you video chat him to check on the tanks?
I can't imagine you going 3 weeks without looking at your tanks.
No dose pump. There really isn’t room in the location anyways. It’s a multipurpose AIO design that isn’t marine specific. First chamber is empty second has the heater third has live rock(and a few urchins doing time out for being little wrecking balls), last one has return pump. The pumps gotten gummed up in the past from the dosing(I think) hence why I’ve been putting in display. Maybe I’ll try putting the 2 part in the first chamber next time…Even if its diluted your still putting in a localized huge amount of alk relative to 90 gallons of water depending on how many times per day you break up the dose.
