4 boxes of each so I can test both tanks weekly for phosphate and nitrate. I use salifert for my alkalinity. I find it cheap and easy.

You test weekly. 4 boxes of alk reagents won't last me that that long. I test mine very regularly.

I test alkalinity every couple of days. I got through several boxes of salifert a year. Ordered 2 more of those two.

Phosphate and nitrates don't shift very often, more than weekly seems a waste for me.

Have you tried salifert nitrate too? I have a shelf full of hannah that sits idle except for po4 at this point.
