stopped by Great lakes corals in Petoskey MI last weekend to check out there set up. I've already gotten a couple acros from Zach the owner but I was blown away by his livestock and the prices he was letting corals go for made me feel like it was 2009 again. Couple pics of some of his coral flats and a link to the IG post of the corals I brought home.

The biggest thing I hate about having high nutrients is the algae on the glass. Some weeks it's not as bad as others but sometimes it's terrible. Always a sure sign im ready for my waterchange.

4Hrs after cleaning, the haze has started to appear again.

24hrs later and we're fully back to dirty glass.

My favorite view of the tank. I have to start trimming a couple corals back that are starting to fight this week. Mostly the green birdsnest that grows 2-3x faster then anything else in the tank.

Haha yup .6 Its been as high as .77 and it's been that way ever since I transfered into this tank. I tried bringing it down with gfo once before and my corals looked like they were ready to start loosing tissue. Maybe just dropped too fast. Currently sitting at .5 and am attempting a few things to bring it down very slowly just to see the change in my corals, specifically the colors.

Got another mp40 off the marketplace on r2r today. Nothing beats getting these pumps for less then half full price. Everything is doing good in the tank but I'm thinking about dropping my red monti cap to the sand so I can open up one last spot for 2 or 3 more corals.

The good and the bad.

Ok a few changes over the past few days. I moved the red monti cap down to the sand, added 6 bangaii cardnals that were almost immediately slaughtered by my mature bangaii (lesson learned) and added a gold line rabbit fish.

Today's saga. So thismorning I pulled a rock from the tank for a local reffer who is raising berghia nudibranch. I grabbed a rock with a good amount of aptasia bagged it up thismorning and put it in a Styrofoam cooler to take to work with me so I could drop it off on the way home. I dropped it off and got a cup of nudibranch in exchange. A short while later I got a message from him with a photo, "how are your lps doing, not worried since it's going into a quarantine tank with just berghia"

A big ol Pericelis tectivorum measuring just over 1" had fallen off the rock and into the bottom of the bag with a butload of starfish. I had no idea that flatworms of any kind were in my system. Ive not seen any type of flatworm in 2 years. These guys predate on snails and don't go after corals, reefbuilders has a great writeup on them. This could amount for my slowly declining turbosnail population. I had been blaming all my snal losses on my elegance stinging rhem to death.
I got home a short while later to find my new mp40 was delivered and a handful of my fish are dealing with bacterial infections. The worst of it affecting my newest clown and my 6 line. They have both got fuzz on fins as well as cloudy eyes and developing Popeye on one side. My clown hovers near the top so I was able to capture it and get it into a bath or reef rally pro to help it with the external infection. The 6 line ive got no chance of catching so hopefully he will be able to pull through and recover on his own.
I got on to installing the new mp40 and I now have some serious flow in my tank. I have it in slave mode and it sync the mp40 next to it at the end of my peninsula. The mp40 at the overflow end runs opposite the two at the other end. Don't mind the dirty glass in the photos.

I'm planning on getting my DI resin changed out this weekend and doing a 30 gallon waterchange. Also going to try and get my carbon reactor cleaned out.
