If funds are not an issue, I would sell that replacement tank and find yourself a different brand tank. Not worth the headache of doing this again in a few years.Update: Red Sea has informed me they will be sending me a new Reefer 250 G2+
I'd sell it and buy a different tank lolUpdate: Red Sea has informed me they will be sending me a new Reefer 250 G2+
If that's the best the law allows I guess you have no choice.Update: Red Sea has informed me they will be sending me a new Reefer 250 G2+
I didn’t buy it from Red Sea directly and the LFS that sold it to me didn’t do anything wrong so I’m not sure a refund is an option. I think this is the best case scenario given the situation so I’m content with the outcome. If that's the best the law allows I guess you have no choice.
I'd be demanding money back.
But, I guess you could sell it as a reptile tank or something.
Was the tank with the seams busting a G1 version?Update: Red Sea has informed me they will be sending me a new Reefer 250 G2+
I’m not sure there is any company that will refund something 2 years after purchase when they have a warranty to cover the issue by replacement. If there is such a company in existence, please point me to them because I will only buy from that company, as that’s one heck of a refund policy. If that's the best the law allows I guess you have no choice.

Ummm what were you basing “nope” off of?Nope
Sorry... I must have been thinking of a different red sea failure thread, there's been like three this week.Ummm what were you basing “nope” off of?
See above reply where it’s confirmed G1.
Yeah, they did quite a bit, a lot of it is structural with the stand too. I’d ask them about if there was any changes to the stand for the G2 for your model.Yes reefer 250 serial# >30,500. I am hoping the G2 is better constructed
Maybe we’ll do this all over again in a year with the G2 lolSorry... I must have been thinking of a different red sea failure thread, there's been like three this week.

There’s another thread titled “G2” but in the thread they tried to correlate a G1 V3 as G2 because it has G2 “features”. From what I’ve seen (or haven’t seen from lack of failure), the G2 corrects a lot of the G1 mishaps. It’s a shame they didn’t cut manufacturing of G1 quicker.Sorry... Can't be trusted don't care what Red Sea saysYeah, they did quite a bit, a lot of it is structural with the stand too. I’d ask them about if there was any changes to the stand for the G2 for your model.
Haven’t really seen a G2 failure aside from chips and glass breaking from handling the tanks.
My LFS also has a few “brand new” G1 they’re trying to offload. I wouldn’t touch a G1 tank period - they really cut a ton of corners with that generation.
That’s not a G2. You can tell by the black gate valve and single return nozzle.I hate to give you nightmares... here is a G2 - ha! This is probably the tank @BristleWormHater was thinking of..
you could always eurobrace the bottom and/or top.
Red Sea Reefer 350 G2 catastrophic failure
This should come as a surprise to no one here, but the front seal on our Red Sea Reefer 350 G2 failed catastrophically last night and the whole tank emptied onto our floor in just a few minutes. We reached out to their support team to seek remedy for the impact to us and premature loss on this...www.reef2reef.com
