Nah from the LFS but I’ll dip. I have the Red Sea dip.

Forgot to say @i cant think but I was this close to getting a tilefish. They had skunk and bluehead and the bluehead were so pretty that I almost got one but I’m trying my hardest to stop getting fish for a while.
He’s just sat there… begging to see a buddy ;)

Also, surprisingly the Marcosi is yet to even attempt jumping and I’ve had the lid off for a while with him sat at the top.

Well I may have folded. They were just so lively at the LFS that I could not resist. So I have a bluehead.
Pics to come!

Join the Tilefish gang!!
These fish are some of the most personality filled you will find (possibly more so than triggers and puffers).

You went for him!!

Both of these are fish I love - I’ve cared for both and yet never owned either of them. However I own relatives of both.

A relative of a hogfish? Do you just mean a wrasse?

But yeah. I was tempted by the skunk but something about the subtle beauty of the blue got me.

As for the lyretail I liked the personality of hogfish but this was the only species I liked the look of. I’ve been looking out for one for a while and was surprised by this one.

I definitely get that about the blue head, I saw one and if my 4’ tank wasn’t finished for fish I would’ve taken that guy. The blue head is subtle compared to most other blue fish - like the C. Aquamarinus

I released it because it obviously didn’t need acclimation. It’s so confident and could not care. Also it was not liking not being able to get to all the food lol.

My LFS that spoils me. I’m very lucky to have Nemo Aquarium (even if their name is awful :face-with-tears-of-joy:) but if you ever wonder why I get so many beautiful fish this is why:

Tilefish almost never need full on acclimation as they just go in so careless. The only time I would say full on acclimation is ideal is with Hoplolatilus chlupatyi. That species can be boisterous but most of the time is very skittish and easily bullied.

And if their display has a lid, they absolutely need to show off a Tilefish in it! Along with a group of wrasses.

They had a massive oreni in there for months and they do have a ton of wrasse with many of your favorites like the lubbocks, flavidorsalis, and a ton of flashers.

Reordered the camera lens and a hanna pH pen. Both the new fish are looking great and eating. The tile fish looks so much like my midas blenny (shape not color obviously) that I'm surprised they get along. Anyway the tile loves to sit behind rocks and stare at me until I add food and then shoots out. I think its the second biggest fish and not far off the biggest which is the foxface.

Also test results:
Alkalintiy - 6.9
Nitrate - 0.1
Phospate - 0.06

Honestly, I prefer the Reef Flare from Reef Factory. They’re incredible for growing anything. My hammer has already split I believe 2 of its heads and looks to be ready to split all of its heads - one head looks to be ready to split into 3-4 heads!
Whilst under my Red Sea LED, they pushed minimal growth from my clam, SPS pretty much went downhill rather fast under those lights too.
Now I have SPS growing and loving it once they settle. Yes I have a bumpy time with them every so often - currently my Valida and birds nest are bailing out for what seems to be no reason. I feel like my limeberry birdsnest is bailing due to the Coral Goby.

But generally, I really do think the Reef Flare is a great light. But my whole nano is ran by Reef Factory’s things besides the skimmer, heater and pumps. My only issue is I can push 600+ PAR in my reef because it’s shallower (1’ deep) but the range of the light is shocking.
I just bought the 80W RF Blue. Love the light but took forever to get my network optimized for it and even now having a problem doing a firmware update. Constantly reads offline. Have you had to work thru anything and how'd you find where to do it? I don't want to keep doing a factory reset.

I didn't know I had the day off today so got to spend some quality time cleaning my sump. Removed all the chaeto and replaced it with my remaining caulerpa just because I can sell that easier and fish love to eat it. Anyway found an incredible amount of bubble algae. Two of the sides of the tank were just covered in it. I don't really care because it won't survive the foxface in the dt but look at it!
IMG_7970.jpeg

Anyways. Scrapped a lot of that off, cleaned the return pump, and did a water change. Then follow up tests got me some almost perfect results.
Alk 8.7
Phosphate 0.04
Nitrate 1.2

You’re right about the tilefish @i cant think. It’s so bold and comes right up to my hand when I feed. I was expecting a shy fish:face-with-tears-of-joy:

Looks like you’ve got a fairly uncommon one too, it seems to be Hoplolatilus cuniculus which IMO is underrated as they’re one of the more personable species in the genus (Although, chlupatyi is possibly the most personable in the genus once settled and thriving).
