First Time Reefer- New Red Sea Reefer 250 G2+

This is my first attempt at a rock scape. The cardboard and blue towel are the dimensions of my tank. I would love some feedback!

My tank arrived today, but to my dismay I found a problem with the stand during assembly. The threaded inserts appear to have been over tightened damaging the wood on the front support. I guess we will see if they stand by their warranty..

Update - Red Sea honored the warranty and a replacement part is on the way.

That’s a very nice layout! Love the arch and there seems to be plenty of cave-like areas for the fish to swim through.

Update - It has been an interesting week! After some growing pains, I managed to get my tank up and running! I added a Chocolate Mocha clown fish and a 4oz bottle of Fritz turbo start 900 on 7/2. My ammonia, nitrates and nitrites are currently 0, PH 8.0. Interestingly, I never saw an ammonia spike. I added two blue leg and 2 red leg crabs on 7/5.

The sale was 12% off the current prices. I saw the same prices at my LFS and online. However, I noticed that Aquarium Specialty was even a little lower and didn’t charge sales tax. That’s where I purchased a 350 MAX setup during the Memorial Day sale.

Update - The tank is doing great! I added an Orange Spotted Watchman Goby, 2 cerith snails and 2 trochus snails on 7/13. Ammonia, nitrates and nitrites are still around 0, PH 8.0. I can post pics or a video soon if anyone is interested!

Update - added a tiger pistol shrimp and a very small green discosoma mushroom (7/20). The pistol shrimp and goby were fast friends. They immediately went to work building caves together. Very cool to watch!

Update - I added 4 nerite snails, 2 trochus and 2 cerith snails on 7/27. I also picked up 3 margarite snails and one more nerite snail on 8/3. We also got our next fish on 8/3, a longfin fairy wrasse!

Hello and I set up a 170 6 months ago so fresh troubleshooting here. Unless you have other plans...change the 1 gallon ato reservoir into a refugium and use a 5 gal water jug for your reservoir or the slim fit red sea container.

I'm wanting to set up a reservoir for my 40B and I have a 5 gallon jug like that. You put the pump inside the jug? If so, what size tiny pump did you use? I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around how the ATO works with the container holding the top off water.
