That’s a smoking deal with todays prices… it would have cost me close to 4K in acrylic alone to build my tank that’s why I just bought this one and was done! No labor and I didn’t have to buy pumps, and build a stand and sump etc.. my sump alone costs $1,800 lol
I have a friend down in Naples who will give me a beautiful 4 year old, 84 x 36 x 24 A.G.E. Aquarium with armored seams. Unfortunately, I’d have to make some major structural changes to my house to accommodate for it. At this age, I’m just not willing to do that much work even for a free gorgeous tank. Now I’m not saying that I’m old just that I wouldn’t want my house tore up while doing the work and I know I’d have to take longer than I would want to do it.

You're in Florida set the tank up outside on your patio! Natural light and no heating! Dude free tank! What is the matter with you? Do I have to do all the thinking for you. O2manyfish had parts of his system outdoors for years in California. Grew great corals!

Crystal clear water. Did you buy rock formations or make it yourself?
They’re home made.. did a diy coral snow treatment earlier today.. it does make the tank sparkle! :p

It’s not a bad idea. However, my house faces East and the only sunlight we get in the back lanai is from after 4:30pm. Plus, I’d have to run a monster chiller on it. Although I could make one out of an bigger sized window AC unit.

Keep thinking and you will come up with a solution! Direct sunlight might not be necessary or desired in your location.

I’d love a Speciosa but I’ve yet to see some available, maybe next week I’ll end up with another couple frags…

Your sticks already look nice under daylights so I bet they look 10x better under blues.

New Apex brain comes today.. not sure if I should be excited or not! Already got a bad taste in my mouth haha! Technology, shmology.. all I wanted was a ph probe cause I was curious where mine ph is at.. lots of people in the house and a couple huge labs… debating a ph scrubber for some faster growth.. I need this large tank to fill in yesterday :zany-face:

Finally online yay! Not bad I guess.. could be better.. hoping that temp isn’t calibrated right lol.. could be thou.. the halides were on.. View attachment 3108137
So I double checked my temp with a couple thermometers including my thermapen which is all sorts of fancy Calibrated etc “use for my smoker” haha and the temp checks out! :grimacing-face: I went ahead unplugged my heater and the temp is down to 79.5 now… I will monitor it today when the halides come on and see how much it rises and if I need to add a fan blowing across the top… I don’t think I will but just wanna make sure as it’s already hitting 95 in Vegas.

Got the temp thing all worked out.. I thought it was the halides but it wasn’t.. just the dumb heater that came with the tank.. I forgot I never used one and never will! Lol… unplugged it and tank is golden.. hasn’t changed more that 1 degree since..

Photo dump.. just quick iPhone shots with the halides on.. growth is really good for 2 weeks it’s crazy! The colors look great when the halides are off but a little drab with them on.. at least in the photos.. the blues and purples look insane under the phoenix bulbs… you def don’t see that under leds because the blues wash everything out!
