I'm not sure if your skimmer has a float switch. In my RO skimmer, you can install a float switch that kills the skimmer pump if the cup overflows. I also put my skimmer cup drain line on a pump to the skimmate locker. The pump only comes on for 5 minutes once per day to drain the cup. So if there is any overflow and the float sensor fails, the cup will just overflow back into the sump.



My make up water barrel is also outside, and it's like 104F outside right now. So I know your pain about WC issues.

I need to do something.. for now I put a 1” drain on the locker so it will never flow again but will dump it all into my sump lol… I have my alarms set on my Alex if my ph goes above 8.5 but it didn’t notify me… guess I need to code it or something and I suck at that haha!

As for a update everything is fine no casualties besides my return pump… fair enough I’ll take it! lol… all corals look great and fish! new pump came today and I installed it and all is well! My alk is super low thou ugh! It was at 9 till it spiked to “what ever” and now it sits at 6 so I gotta raise that up slowly. I did a 50 gallon wc yesterday so I’m sure it was even lower!

Crazy for 9 months growth.. it’s almost the size of a volleyball now and hard to frag since it’s so dense! Could it be the halides? All the other golden rods I see are open and easy to frag.

Me sitting here with my 1" frags that has barely grown or STN, and this guy is growing volleyball sized SPS from a frag in shorter amount of time. LOL. (Yes, the feeling of envy and jealousy is slowly creeping into my bones...I'm slowly turning to the dark side)

I honestly don’t do much.. the tank runs its self! I dose zeobak and carbon dose. I also top off with kalk that’s it… feed the fish and wipe the glass.
