Splurge! If you were given $1,000 to spend on reef equipment, what item(s) would you put it toward?

The holidays are over and we’ll have to wait until next year for more presents, but what if we could still dream a little longer…what if you could spend $1,000 on reefing equipment? What item(s) would you put the money toward? Would it be a controller, lights, pumps, reactor, skimmer, testing machine, or something else? Let’s dream a little and discuss what a $1,000 splurge would be – please join us in the discussion thread!

BTW, while we aren’t currently giving away $1,000, R2R is hosting a giveaway for a Deltec Skimmer so please following this link to enter! Good luck!!!

I'm questioning if my 9-10 year old skimmer and skimmer pump are sufficient. So, possibly a replacement skimmer. That said, I also think a UV would be nice for fish health and algae growth on the glass. So, most likely a large UV for my 340 gallon display. Alternatively I'd consider Ozone to boost PH levels. They're getting toxic at night hitting 7.4 on a new calibrated PH probe. I don't know at what point marine life suffers, but I'm guessing 7.4 will lead to some bad events if prolonged.

$1,000 would go far in my tank!
I could upgrade lighting, get a new lid to accommodate it, and get a decent skimmer to fit it.

I'd go for a tester first, then controller or doser, then lights.

If someone was to give me a $1000.00 I'D PUT IT TOWARDS a @ghl controller. That's my dream equipment to hopefully afford one day.
