Electric daisy Stylocoeniella (I believe). I wanted my overflow to get encrusted and so far so good; it's about the size of a dessert plate now. Very hardy coral. Stylocoeniella will always be underrated to me. Looks wild under blues - pic taken with an excellent Quanta Tropic Sun above so about 12kish

Not my favorite coral type per se, but it is my favorite individual colony that I own.

It’s a huge 15-20” in diameter Turbinaria that I’ve grown from a small frag, and no matter how big or colorful other colonies are, it always stands out and steals the show:

You can really tell when a colony is HUGE when you look at a tank from ~30ft away and can still make up exactly what It is lol

Beautiful tank. Love how it surrounds the acro like the rings of Saturn

While it was never my goal or plan, and I never really considered it before, I came across an incredible lobophyllia and when I saw it I had to get it. My vendor just happened to get it one day, and I was lucky and found it. I like a lot of my corals but this one always draws me in, and the polyp completely changes depending on if it’s ready to eat or not
It’s all metallic look. The orange, purple and green are all metallic / speckled. The green is not a camera or lighting trick. I can put this on my kitchen table and the green looks the same as the photos.

When it’s ready to feed, the green vanishes as the polyps invert to extend tentacles

A few weeks later they call me and say hey, we got another crazy lobo you should check out. And then I got this one (just relocated to my sand bed and I was able to get better pics. The first one is one massive polyp and this one is a colony of individual ones.

I believe these were all reclassified as something else, so I’ll correct myself and call them former lobophyllia. In a few years they will probably go back to calling them lobophyllia again, or something entirely new lol. I can’t keep up with the name changes

Now I’m always on the hunt for new lobo and I don’t know why this is a coral I overlooked for so long

I love the color combinations you can find in these. Sky blue next to maroon etc. They're very underrated, and great eaters. Shame they grow so slow, but at least you can frag em eventually.

My phone camera can’t do it justice. Here’s a pic with underwater hd camera, macro lens

I don’t think I could ever bring myself to fragging these. They seem to be in tact colonies, collected as a whole piece and sold before going to a chop shop

Lol I sent pics to another vendor I’m friends with and he said “cut it up!!!” I told him no way!

Lobos are some of my favorites, an if i dint have that coral or posted on the OP, i would have posted my lobos.

Yours are stunning even if they may possibly not be lobos. Either way I love this colors.

My favourites are wall hammers, here’s the 2 I will add to my tank on Sunday! I’m so excited to add the Rainbow one as it’s a proper rainbow. The best way to describe it is a Holographic pokemon card.

not exotic or anything but I love that it’s got a bunch of heads and my shrimp/goby pair made it’s home right under it.

That's really what this thread is about - your personal prize coral, in your tank. That's what i like the most about this hobby. Anyone can find both challenge and reward in their own way.

Love it!
