Up to PAR: Do you use a PAR meter when placing new coral in your aquarium?

My honest experience never using a PAR meter:
Tank 1: I guess placement was perfect for everything, because everything grew and did awesome!
Tank 2: Somewhere between college and now I lost my epic internal PAR predicting skills. About half the coral in the tank seems happy with my skills, the other half wants to fire me as PAR analyst.
I would love to get one in the future, most certainly before any tank upgrades happen.
