I want a ritteri now I emailed pacificeastaquaculture and they're getting in more today
They have some nice ones, lots of different colors, big ones...lol

My Ritteri is purplish with yellow tips, about 6 inches across right now.

That Sebae crispa is about 10x6 right now, much larger than advertised...lol

Good morning.

Looking for some help with a nem ID. We brought in the 2 Helfrichi on Saturday found one that was regurgitated by an RFA and the other is MIA since Monday night. This morning the male clownfish was seen trying to nuzzle up to this anemone, appeared to get stung, bolted up and started spiraling without boyancy control and then got lost in the rockwork. My wife is devastated.

This nem was sold to us as a "long tentacle RFA" but I am starting to believe it is a curleycue. I have seen it extend off the rock on a stalk like a BTA. Any help on the ID would be appreciated. It is about 4" across when fully open.

I'd definitely post in the anemone section. I can't help you with it, there are a lot of nems misidentified and many that are simply not fish safe, even clownfish safe.

Where did you get it from?

Following this and some google research I believe you are correct. I will look to do more research but definitely could have killed the small fish in the tank (I had found our small green clown goby in similar regurgitated shape as well a while back).

Local frag convention. Vendor came down from Wisconsin.
if you don't think its going to work out i would get it out of there ASAP, the reproduce readily and you will have more if you wait too long. I haven't seen them take a fish, but it doesn't surprise me much. they have a strong sting at least in regard to coral and are very "sticky".

I emailed Dinkins. They're not able to offer bulk on the nudis due to limited weekly production and sell out so quick. but free shipping $200 or more. They currently have 3 pk for $39 (include 2 adults and 1 juvy). I bout 2 pks for my 65 a few weeks ago

Thank you. We are discussing removal now. Beautiful animal but may not be a good choice for a small tank.

Research says clowns "may" look to host in them but usually only skunk clowns. Haven't seen anything that says fish survive being stung though so the small male clown may already be a gonner.

i currently only have them in a tank that doesn't have any fish or coral i have strong feelings about. I have considered getting rid of them several times but it was something i picked up in the early days of my reefing and there is some nostalgia involved. I thin them out once in a while, either selling them ($5 each) with warnings or just eliminating some of them. I doubt they would be able to kill a larger fish but...... who knows.

I still have a 180 in the garage waiting to be set up as a FOWLR (my wife wants her triggers and pufferfish again).

We have decided to remove the Borneman. Beautiful but just not a sustainable option as she wants to keep fish. I am now in the process of finding a new home for the Borneman and going back to the shop that still has a lone Helfrichi left. Very expensive lesson.

If you were close I would give you some rainbow BTAs. I really think they are pretty reef safe, I've had them in contact with corals and never lost a fish to them either. But there is always a chance with any anemone.

Thank you. That is a wonderful gesture.

Sad to report that the clownfish did not survive the sting.

Anemone is now in containment waiting to be rehomed to the LFS. This is not the nems fault as it was only doing what it does naturally. This is our mistake in not doing the proper research to identify the type of animal we were adding. The worst part is that the fish we took responsibility for paid the ultimate price for our lack of knowledge. This is what bothers me the most.
