All I got is coral rx and revive and in my past I’ve found dips usually just irritate acros and set me back. I just do visual inspection and use my camera as a magnifier while they are temp acclimating in a container

Might have been a little excited to get them in the tank. Are you saying I shouldn’t trust frags from Sbb?
I pride myself for being extremely diligent in my Inspection and dipping routine. I'm pest free to the absolute best of my knowledge and I would think you to be a fool if you didn't dip a coral from me. That's from me....IMO you dip a coral if god himself handed it to you..lol.

Potassium chloride
2 tablespoons per gallon
10-15 minutes in dip

Rinse clean in tank sw/container
Put frag in tank

Now...even then...eggs can make it through. The best way is qt corals but I don't do that. My point is....nobody is flawless...it only takes one teeny tiny egg to slip through.

I bought a bag of food grade Potassium chloride off Amazon for dipping. Less worried about algae than pests. I dip and scrub the plug.

I would dip a coral if I had another system and I was transferring a coral to the other system.

Can I borrow that? My precious little daughter just came and sat next to me. I thought she was going to tell me something.

Instead she proceeds to rip a big ole fart and then laughs so hard she got the hiccups :grinning-squinting-face: :grinning-squinting-face: :grinning-squinting-face: :grinning-squinting-face:

I don’t qt fish either

No shame here

If they come with pests that’s free wrasse food
I love my wrasses in my tank, i have 4 and two more coming tomorrow. But the type of pest that can slip through if you don't dip could end your coral career.

In terms of trust sbb or any other vendor.... Dip no matter where you get frags. I dip even when they come from my qt tank lol. Sbb has some of the cleanest corals and a good housekeeping regimen, but nobody is perfect.

Dip my friend, after you dip then dip again.

Or no... @DJF i think
+1 for the coral bubble bath; agree that it could be better on algae but I’m a fan. It was a tip picked up from kung fu corals it’s the hydrogen peroxide in their process. They dilute- I follow the directions explicitly. Only sps I’ve lost with it was arguably on its way out but I don’t dip smooth skins.

Zaps all the bugs

Me too. I scrub plug with hydrogen peroxide with a toothbrush and rinse before I put in my tank
I learned my lesson about not scrubbing well enough with my less than successful order with another vendor. Despite a dip in both potassium chloride and dip x I missed a egg somewhere. I now no longer have montipora or chalice corals in the tank. I will not trust more in this tank. That means a year at least without food for the nudibranches hopefully that's enough to starve them and any of their spawn

I don’t dip. Just temp acclimate
You know one of the guys I worked with at my old job. We where talking about what others called pests and we came to a sort of agreement that in the wild there are no pests. Everything has a purpose. So yeah I'm in the sane boat of not dripping corals or fish.
