i did get glue all over my fingers, moving some stuff around before. by you guy's standards its a relatively small order, 8 or 9 from SBB, 4 from CCH, and 2 fish from biota

It is not porous at all. They mention this also. Only the surface will carry bacteria. It’s solid otherwise. And they also state that if your display is only using this product, you should supplement with biological media elsewhere

It is a liquid resin poured in a mold. So there are no pores

It’s a good thing. It means no little worms or pests are going to be making their way in and using it as a hotel
Good point :) no spot for good means no spot for bad. I’m weighing whether to start fresh or reuse all my beautiful rock natural rock that has good and bad. (Of course seeding)
Terrible logic. That won't stop anything bad from being in the system and if the good isn't proliferating your doomed regardless. The best part about live rock is what's inside not just the surface.

Looks like you're a bit ahead of me, so I'm going to steal any great ideas

What are you doing with your sump? I was thinking of removing the sock holders and baffle to for a roller mat...
Im a sock kind of guy for now. I like that they force me to jump intonthe sump and investigate dosing lines, ato, skimmer, etc. I already took my fuge offline and dried skimming as much as possible. Im moving towards filterless more and more.

I skim DOCs bassically but want to leave bacteria and trace as much as possible

No question about the benefits of porous rock from me. What intrigues me about this particular rock is that it looks like it’ll marry well with existing (porous) Tonga. As someone recovering from a bacterial issue wiping out thousands in sps- you don’t need to remind me of its importance :)

@billyocean inspire me with your new rock work :)
