seth meyers announcement GIF by Late Night with Seth Meyers

1) we will do an unboxing video contest for a $250 Gift card. We will pick a video at random and award the winner after all boxes have been shipped. The idea is that you will do a video receiving your corals. You will document the package coming in and opening them and then showing them in your tank. We will use the video on our testimonial section of our website. We hope many people enter this contest. the video must be on YouTube. Tag us with your entry or it won’t count. Good luck to all and we cant wait to see what you got!

2) stay active as we will be giving out random $25 gift card as this thread lives on!!!!!

Finally got this thing cleaned. The saturated citric acid on a paper towel finally got it broken down. Lots of vinegar too.

Think ill rinse and wipe it down once more, then get after it. Still dunno where ima put this order coming thursday.
Looks awesome! Citric acid is great, I use it to clean all my pumps and equipment.

Why does nobody ever talk about using muriatic acid and bleach? Using vinegar makes the whole house smell and works way too slow for me (regardless of concentration). Citric acid is better but is still slow for most tasks. I agree it does do wonders on pumps though. I’ve used the bleach/muriatic combo for years on just about anything that is plastic or glass. It’s instant gratification compared to vinegar and citric acid. Bleach (I use pool shock, bleach on steroids) just melts anything green away in a couple minutes as you watch it turn white. Then muriatic acid just melts the coraline algae and it’s fun to watch as it foams up. Just rinse off the bleach before using the acid! Mixing them could kill you (mustard gas) but using them separately is just magic.

Um 30% vinager at home depot not that 5 percent grocery store stuff. There are to many people that would make the mustard gas mistake so we don't talk about it. Lots of dumb people that will try it.

Yeah, even without mixing with bleach you still need some good protection plus ventilation, and i like to go at things raw. In hindsight i would have used 30% vinegar outside before bringing tank in.

It's more dangerous than most want to deal with. I use muriatic acid in the pool and between the PPE and the fact that it can etch concrete I wouldn't use it inside the house

Happy Good Morning GIF by joeyahlbum

Spent yesterday breaking down, cleaning and inspecting all the pumps and equipment in the 65 searching for a source of tin - nothing rusty was found so I am still without a source.

Morning. Sorry to hear that you didn't find it. I'm sure when you finally track it down it will be one of those " how did I not think of that moments".

What concentration of muriatic do you use?

Anybody familiar with legacy Neptune gear? I'm trying to puzzle my way through what came with my new tank, but there are evidently generations that are complicating things.

If anybody wants to take a look, I'd appreciate it:

Also take a magnet through your sump see if it picks up a rando screw or something.

Skimmer pumps, return pumps, etc. Hinges, canopy lights, etc. Micrograms sure isnt much.

You hit any of the big WC yet? I waited about 3 weeks after the big WC and calculated lut the expecred tin to see if itnwas still contributing.

I was also speculating it was a bad batch of fws or.coral boost.
