Yeah it won’t take long.
The Hanna alk checker is incredibly easy to use, but has a bad habit of different batches of reagents, or older reagents, giving false reading. The reading will be consistent but not accurate IME.
Which is why I haven't got it yet. Salifert is quick and easy enough for now.

I used to agree, but I got a newly opened bottle that gave me higher reading compared to my previous old reagent, my trident, and my Red Sea pro test kit.

Ever since I've kept it in the fridge the only variance I've got has been when they sent hi755 reagent. Icp matched as for the 772 as well.

I can’t say that I paid attention to which reagent it was that gave me a different reading, but as I understand it Hanna said they’re the same with a different label.

I've noticed much better results with the locking. I too have reefing art wicth are great when they don't wobble in the hole. Usually I just put them right on the rocks where it would go straight out of the gate....but space is taking time to make these days.

About 6 months, I'm waiting and watching for it to move. I have about 30-40 frags. I use Reef Crystals, my Alk stays between 8.6 and 8.9 with Salifert, I use the crappy API sometimes and it's not as accurate but usually about 9.0. Thinking of getting the Hanna for it too.

But things are definitely growing.:beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
My Salifert gets me to within about .2 of my Hanna.

How often does everyone test their tanks? I'm overboard and test at least something almost daily..lol. overkill I know. Curious about others..
I'm overboard as well, so probably every couple of days. I'm also tinkering some when I change my coral live stock, since that will affect my alk consumption. I just sold ~12 frags, some good size ones and I didn't adjust my auto doser for All For Reef. Visually, I could see that my acanthophyllia wasn't opening all of the way, so I tested and my alk was at 8.2, which is about .6 off from where it has been for a long time.

Testing as we speak, because I made an adjustment to the dosing Sunday. Everything looks better now, but it's always something I adjust when changing things. I'll have to change it again when I get my delivery from SBB tomorrow. I don't have a trident or anything, just one Kamoer Pro 1 doser with All For Reef which stays pretty steady and I'm also working with a much smaller footprint than most of you on here, I only have a 32 gallon.
