Got home. Not thrilled to say the least. Safe to say I think I’m dealing with diatoms after the chemiclean treatment from a week or two ago. Also my hellfire torch is ticked for some reason. Diatom treatment is mostly ride it out correct?
That bubbly snot looks like dinos not diatoms. Those can be tricky depending on which ones you have (need a microscope to determine exactly). Good news is that those appear to be the free swimming variety.

Typically causes by a biological deficiency. Did you redose bacterias after chemiclean?

Typical treatment is reduced lighting, H2O2 dosing, bottle bacteria dosing, adding a UV.

I am not great at taking photos of my coral with my iPhone ;anyone have a good app for that?) but here are some shots of my sticks in my tank. Unboxing video uploading to YouTube right now! Everything looks great! Thank you Shane and Ralph!

@SBB Corals Here is my unboxing video. I have it all start to finish with some video of the tank once everything is placed. It all looks great! Appreciate you and I hope everyone in the thread enjoys seeing it! Send me your feedback!

@robanister

It’s crap. My 75g is 3/8” and it barely cleans light film off. Multiple passes needed

Maybe for a smaller thickness tank.

Wetside frequently goes out of alignment which is an annoyance. Wetside too clunky for my 1.1 pico

Oh. Temp is wrong also. But maybe because glass is too thick

Will try on my 15g Waterbox maybe can salvage this purchase. If not, it’s going back

Now I’m more concerned. My hellfire torch was retracted and I blasted it with a turkey baster and a ton of brown chunks came out. I’m scared it’s brown jelly disease but I have no idea why there was a parameter swing but nothing else to stress it. I do need to check alk but 11.6 alk I doubt would fry a torch.

Why are you running 11.6 alk

Be pretty neat if it actually worked.

Overdose I thought.
Yep. Instead of water changing it figured I’d let the tank consume it naturally. I’ll be testing it tonight. I’ll keep a close eye on the torch to see if I’ll have to remove it as it is a single head. If I’m learning anything is I need to test alk often and learn my tanks consumption rates. Once every few days isn’t cutting it. Need to get more reageant.

Poor measuring and math. I was at 5.6 and used a new alk dose I had and was off. Germans got me.
I think a alk jump from 5.6 to 11.6 could definitely tick off a torch.

It’s not the number. It’s the big jump in a small timeframe
