I feel the same. People think I'm crazy when I don't want a monster fish to put in the monster tank. I just don't feel the same about the fish I get already grown that I do with the babies. My favorite fish are babies. Something about being with them from the start gives me more attachment. Every single once I’ve gotten <2”
Got my yellow tang as a half dollar sized baby. I mean you could see right through him. Now a year and a half later is about tennis ball size and doing great..Very little aggression. Same thing my mandarin. So tiny I couldn't find him most times. Mine are all mostly youngI feel the same. People think I'm crazy when I don't want a monster fish to put in the monster tank. I’ve had booger sized Gonis grow quickly. Most of mine started that way and they are 4x bigger now - and I’ve bought those this year. So less than a year and growth is greatI have zero luck with booger Goni. If a Goni is 1/4” - 1/2” I almost always end up with issues. They are super sensitive. And even if the live…it’s so small you are looking at a year minimum to get to a decent size
Refugiums can suck up nitrates quicker than you think would be the one thing I tell you to watch forI've been doing some research on refugiums, I think I want to try it.
I also dose manganese I’m currently dosing 2.5ml a day ….might up that depending on what my ICP says when I get it backDo you dose Manganese? Things are good for now but was thinking future. It seems many do.
Manganese rarely shows up on ICP test, although according to ATI the normal range is .92ug/l. Dosing 6ml a day of the moonshiners manganese I was able to get a reading of .7 on an ICP. I recently started mixing my own with loud wolf’s manganese monohydrate so I cut back the dose because I was unsure of the concentration of the moonshiners stuff compared to what I mixed up.I need to research if it's in the RedSea 4 part I'm trying
I was looking at there macro algae…yeah there frags seem on the smaller side but they do have some random things that look coolI’ve seen their site. Heard both good and not so good on forums. That’s an awfully small frag even at that price . You know you can get Gonis at least twice that size at the same price from Shane ? I’d avoid them, personally
Do you feel this is better for the tank? I’m willing to change the schedule just curious if you noticed a difference. I did set it up to dose 4 times a day (starting today)Mine is every hour on the dot
