Sorry to hear. Might be caused by quickly and dramatically increasing the bio load. Even tho it’s seeded with rock, it’s still fairly young and susceptible to quick changes. Nems def appreciate a mature tank. Also with multiple nems in a tank you’ll wank to keep carbon going on the reg or at least on hand. When you grab nems from diff vendors- they will recognize that there is someone new with them immediately. If you’re not running it, I’d rock some carbon. One last tip- also have iodine on hand.

If you want to learn a ton about nems look upon Fenner’s books (rip)
Already running carbon so I’m good there. I dose iodine in my other tank didn’t even think about it for this one.
Yah I’m going to keep a close eye on it. Might pull a few to the main tank if I don’t see things calming down.

iodine isn’t to dose, its to use as a dip if needed. It is a miracle worker on nems

Stinks. Im dealing with strange loss also. I’m losing a blasto In front of my eyes and an Asian acan also

Had the acan for months. All others doing fine. All are in the same 3x3 section. Identical conditions. All are target fed

The blasto is new. TargeT fed yesterday. Baby head died over night and was skeleton today. The main head looked ok. Few hours later main head is receding in a spot. It’s sitting 2” away from another set of identical blasto (different color but same type) and that colony has grown many new heads in this spot over the last few months. Low flow and about 80 par
Had the same thing happened

Removed the blasto

Dipped in iodine

Removed the dead skeleton

Rinsed in iodine

Placed back in tank

Baby heads doing good

I’ve been away on a business trip since last Thursday….i get home today…I’ll be interested to see how the tanks are doing. Algae has covered the camera of my nem tank. Large tank looks okay but a lot isn’t visible.

We’ll see how the automated feeders and stuff did
I always find i come home to dirty glass but epic levels of growth, i attribute it to me leaving everything alone
