Curious what people dip specific to addressing bacteria. Does potassium chloride cover this base?
If bacteria is an issue you can dip in amox or cipro for a while I think. Chemiclean also works for in tank bac reset kind of.

Thinking more along the lines of not wanting to introduce. Cipro or witch hazel (not in tank) is my thought. curious if anyone dips with witch hazel as part of the regime. only r2r thread deflects to kcl

I dip everything in reef primer (KCl base) followed by KFC, which has Cipro, amoxicillin, and Chemiclean. This is after I did a full tank treatment with Cipro and amoxicillin because I lost about everything from a bacterial infection.

I just lost two torches in the past month to BJD, my first since the crash. The first one was an SBB bright AF HG because I ripped about half the polyps off with a siphon because I was an idiot not thinking about the consequences of my actions and the second was an SBB nickelodeon that I didn't know what happened.

So, what I'm taking away from this is that it's just going to happen and that I'm going to keep aiming for stability, healthy biome, and healthy coral. I will continue my prophylactic KFC dip and running UV.

FWIW i lost my dragon tamer from last sale, and some no name that was identical before it, bith around the 6 week mark.

The original bright AF looks so bad most days, at least once per day, but its made it 4-5 months now. Im no torch expert, but im guessing youre not alone. It may not be anything with your system, aside from the siphon incident - just stress from all of the movement of these corals.

I had that dragon tamer BJD while being completely packed with 10-15 torches around it, twice - each head, and it didnt spread to any of the others. I wasnt even prompt the first go around. No antibiotics or dips.

It’s the same light but upgraded. These are dimmable and have quad diodes or something like that and maybe a slightly better spectrum. And they’re black not silver
Nice. Dimmable is the key. I have mine on a timer. I don't know how hubby feels about spending $700 to get 2 71" upgrade my non dimmable version
