Thank you. Sounds like you have it all worked out.1st question. No all wrong. I have 480 before membrane.i have 14 to 17 when flushing. When I stop flow of water I get a rise of up to 200 for some reason. Flush and everything is ok. Back down to 14 to 17 ppm .
I run a duel membrane 7 stage. 1 micron filters.
Yes when I say resin I refer to di mixed bed unless specifically saying anion or cation.
No need to run additional stages if you are getting 0 TDS at the end of the process unless you want more control of the di resin use.I'm fighting a GHA outbreak pretty bad. My TDS is zero but do you think it could be source water? I run a 5 stage but maybe need to add more
Yep for me it was zero coming out but needed that final polish and assurance of at least second di. I was getting diatomsI'm fighting a GHA outbreak pretty bad. My TDS is zero but do you think it could be source water? I run a 5 stage but maybe need to add more
My tank gets some sunlight no issue. Pickup maintained. Flow.No need to run additional stages if you are getting 0 TDS at the end of the process unless you want more control of the di resin use.
I would suggest looking for a different source of phosphates for the GHA. Have you changed anything recently that would impact this - changed lighting, more fish/food, change of food, added any new rock to the system, etc? When was the last time you refreshed your clean up crew? Is the tank getting any direct sunlight (where mine is I get some sun for about an hour during the summer months but not in winter)?
Adding a duel di from brs fixed this for me so I'm running the 3 blocks duel membrane 75 gal and 3 di stages.I’ve noticed my resin doesn’t last long either. TDS coming in ranges from 360-380. I run a 5 stage system but recently went with 2 resin cartridges as I was struggling to get to O TDS
So you run the cation anion di setup? This is due to this An anion is an ion with a negative charge. Common anions include Cl-1, SO4-2, and OH-1 .Thank you. Sounds like you have it all worked out.
To answer your initial question, I see a higher use rate of the anion specific resin over the cation. Anion is used up at a rate of 2-to-1 over the cation. I can only imagine this has something to do with the specifics of the Memphis water table. I do not seem to burn through it at the rate you listed and typically get 4 months out of the anion before having to change it.
you might consider changing out your RO filters that is only 97%, if you could get it down to 99% that would help a lot. but at 14 TDS you are probably going to go through it pretty fast. it will help to use separate cation, anion, and mixed. I change out my anion about 3X to one cation. most people use a lot more anion, so the cation di in the mixed often goes to waste.Anyone else blasting through di carts. This was one 50 gallon tds 14 going in 489 at tap.Switching to cation anion next or do we thing something is wrong
That's a fresh change friend lol life suxyou might consider changing out your RO filters that is only 97%, if you could get it down to 99% that would help a lot. but at 14 TDS you are probably going to go through it pretty fast. it will help to use separate cation, anion, and mixed. do you use duel RO filters, like the BRS water saver kit? That's a fresh change friend lol life sux
I use dual membranes and booster pump. Currently making water. 34 out of tapdo you use duel RO filters, like the BRS water saver kit?
No each is fed separate thanks to battlecorals guidence.do you use duel RO filters, like the BRS water saver kit?
That may be the key a booster pump but to much work. I use the premate booster pumpI use dual membranes and booster pump. Currently making water. 34 out of tap
yeah, but you are in a very different situation than he is. dual membranes is fine if your TDS is low. but when they are higher the dual membrane set up can be a problem.I use dual membranes and booster pump. Currently making water. 34 out of tap
each what?No each is fed separate thanks to battlecorals guidence.
Aldo cation anion doesn't work that way I don't think if that's what your doing. Still need mixed at endI'm using the 5 stage brs one at around 65 psi. You guys think I should add a booster pump? I'm thinking about adding another stage so I can have 2 resin, one of each
Membrane. Not in water saver configuration.each what?
don't need mixed at the end but its a good fail safe. should be 0 after anion.Aldo cation anion doesn't work that way I don't think if that's what your doing. Still need mixed at end
Your water pressure at 65 is good.I'm using the 5 stage brs one at around 65 psi. You guys think I should add a booster pump? I'm thinking about adding another stage so I can have 2 resin, one of each
