Water saver, waste of one goes into the other one it's processed. So your deoble ro filtering? Or water saver?
I use this. much cheaper than buying brsWater saver, waste of one goes into the other one it's processed.
Only thing I have different than what most people do is I have a 20 micron then a five micron, and then the carbon block 5 micron, then a carbon block with one micron. And that's on my whole house water filtration.
Then I still have the five micron and two carbon on my RO unit. The last carbon on my RO is .5 micron. But I can't find any cheap .5 micron anymore.
Also for those with alota chloramines its advisable to run a catalytic carbon block. I did away with 5 microns on sediment and carbon and just run 2 1 microns of each.I use this. much cheaper than buying brs
If you switch to a 75gpd youll see lower TDS and longer resin life. Trade off is less production, thats why i run 2 in parallel to double productionI have a larger 10" canister at home that I'm not using. I just might have to switch to that instead of the two small cartridges.
I remember reading somewhere that 75 GPD membranes were kind of the sweet spot for lowest TDS production and waste water. Compared to daily output. Higher GPD produce more water but also allow more TDS to pass, less water. Lower GPD membrane can produce lower TDS, more waste. but production suffers. Also for those with alota chloramines its advisable to run a catalytic carbon block. Yeah the efficiency drops the more GPD. Ive never given an ounce of thought to waste water since its so cheap.I remember reading somewhere that 75 GPD membranes were kind of the sweet spot for lowest TDS production and waste water. Something along those lines anyway
Youll also need to change out the flow restrictor or just put a ball valve inline and adjust based on production:waste over the course of a minute.Makes sense. I'll just order a membrane rated for 75 gpd vs 150 gpd.
I already have a flush valve, so all set there. Good call on the flow restrictor, forgot about thatYoull also need to change out the flow restrictor or just put a ball valve inline and adjust based on production:waste over the course or a minute.
Get a flush valve if ya dont already have one.
Cheap water, clearly you don't have a 3-year-old named Ava. LoLYeah the efficiency drops the more GPD. Ive never given an ounce of thought to waste water since its so cheap.
Definitely got to figure out the nutrient issue for sure. I would still attack it with a lot more very large Turbos though. My display is close to 500 gallon and I was fighting GHA for probably a year constantly pulling it and spent a fortune on probably 10 treatments of Fluco and many bottles of Vibrant and could never eradicate it. Then I put in 50+ of the super big Turbos and they devoured the GHA in less than 2 weeks. I tend to go overboard but they did what I needed them to do. Yours is 200 gallon correct? I’d throw in like 20 more super big Turbos. They are inexpensive and won’t hurt anything. What worked for me might not work for you but in my experience they do an awesome job. It is a beautiful day when you look at your tank and see rocks and not GHA everywhere!Yes, plenty of cuc. I have about 12 turbos in now. I manually remove probably half a red solo cup full of gha every 2 days. I have no idea where the excess nutrients are coming from.
Mine sits at 70-80 unless its too hot to wash the boat so i just leave the motors flushing for hours on end :/Cheap water, clearly you don't have a 3-year-old named Ava. LoL
Normally my water, sewer, and trash runs 100 to 150 a month. Sometimes as low as 70. This month though, let's not talk about it....
100% agree on turbos for GHA. I also always have a tang in a tank to keep things clean afterwards. Downside is turbos mow down frags >_<Definitely got to figure out the nutrient issue for sure. Urchins... Great cleanup, but really mow down frags....100% agree on turbos for GHA. I also always have a tang in a tank to keep things clean afterwards. Downside is turbos mow down frags >_<
Yea, can definitely mow down frags. Use a LOT of glue and epoxy!100% agree on turbos for GHA. I also always have a tang in a tank to keep things clean afterwards. Downside is turbos mow down frags >_<
Yes 200 gallons, lots of other snails too. 3 tangs and 4 urchins haha I feed a third of a sheet of nori daily and a small chunk of frozen pe mysis. My fish always look starving x.x I only dose kalk and AFR, nothing that adds nutrients. I did start dosing phtyo about 2 weeks ago. My Nitrates are at a steady 10 to 15 and po4 is always 0.08 to .1.Definitely got to figure out the nutrient issue for sure. I would still attack it with a lot more very large Turbos though. I need some of your cheap water. A good month for me is $200 and in the summer with irrigation running I’ve got $800+ water bills. Cut back on the irrigation after that bill though!
Those nutrient levels are fine, without the GHA present that is. With GHA everywhere there is no way to know where the nutrients are really at because the GHA is consuming a ton of nutrients as well. Need to get rid of the GHA before you can baseline nutrient levels.Yes 200 gallons, lots of other snails too. 3 tangs and 4 urchins haha I feed a third of a sheet of nori daily and a small chunk of frozen pe mysis.
