I think I just got it too, treat it like two separate sequences so 3,5,7,9and 5,19,41,71

So odd terms are 3, 5, 7, 9
Even terms are 5, 19, 41
5 = (3x2-1)
19= (5x4-1)
41= (7x6-1)
?= (9x8-1)

Wow! I honestly like how you solved it more. I just saw the changes of +14 to +22 to +30 and figured the change increased by 8 each time.
