I'll be eliminating 24 ml of soda ash dosing at night...apprx. 110 gallons. I'm simply doing it to keep my ph higher as it approaches 8.6 during the day with soda ash but comes down to 8 at night
Yeah but you have to know how much soda ash per mL of water to know how much dkh youre removing. If you miz that same 7 grams into 50mLyoud be removed .5dkh. Of you mix 7 grams into 100mL youd be removing .25dkh.

Or maybe it will better to cut back on the ash at night and supplement with kalk. Or with sodium hydroxide
Kalk and sodium hydroxide have anout the same effect on pH if i recall as theyre both extremely basic.

Soda ash is right up therw with them but slightly less. The pH effect will be negligble. If you want to boost pH at night youd have to cut back between noon and 5pm and then put that same dose in between midnight and 5am

This takes me from 8 to 8.1 in 110 gallons with soda ash

This is the same 8-8.1 with kalk

I'm at 8/8.1 dkh and want to stay there.
Yes but what is the potency or amount of dkh per soda ash stock solution you dose now? If you give me the amount of soda ash you mix with RO to create your stock solution, we can determine potency per mL then multiply that by 24mL and find the equivalent of whatever you want to replace it with.

381 grams of soda to a gallon.rodi is my container. Soda ash is half the ph per unit of alk as kalk. Kalk is less than sodium hydroxide

So .8 grams is roughly 11% of 7 grams, this indicates my calculation above is dead on.

How much water do you mix that .8 grams with? That way we know what that 24mL needs replaced with.

Its not relevant really but I dose 104 ml between 8am and 8pm
Alright dude. Assuming 381g sodium carbonate into 3785mL RO is the same as 601g sodium bicarbonate into 3785mL RO (sodium carbonate adds 1.58 more dkh per equivalent of bicarbonate) that puts your 24mL dose of 381g sodium carbonate into 1 US gallon RO to be equal to .31dkh.

I hope i did that right. The calculator did not have soda ash as an option.

Bicarb<carb<kalk<hydroxide is the way ph effect goes I think
Yes but the sodium hydroxide and kalk is negligble, its splitting hairs, unless your able to add more sodium hydroxide overall because youve reached your evaporation limit with kalkwater. I havent looked into that in a while.

The pH of carbonate is still very high. You have so much surface agitation i am confident that your atmospheric equilibrium will overtake any pH additive you try. Interested to see your results.
