@Yang’s Blue Paradise that shot above shows the color a little more on the goldi, the pic yesterday was 4-6 weeks old and it was still fresh.

Heres pumps off and blues, money shot:

@banik hows the diagnosis going on your tank, root cause it yet?

I think so. My leading theory is bacterial infection. Parameters all good, ICP basically good (low iodine, but not critical), and certain species affected more than others.

I ran a tank treatment of amoxicillin and ciproflaxin which finished last week and everything is improving - zoa's open, mushrooms stabilizing, micromussa lords puffing up and getting a little color back. I got a nice, cheap, little octospawn from my LFS as a test coral and will observe it for a couple weeks before bringing one of those non-SBB torches over from my friend's to test that. The octo is happy since I brought it home Saturday.

My plan going forward is reef primer and KFC for everything new, plus a stay in my QT. I have a UV sterilizer to plumb in this weekend. I'm also going to give Dr. Reef's quarantined fish a try for livestock.

I lost ~85% of my coral, but I'm not going to go hungry or quit the hobby over it. I took it as an opportunity to be more selective and do a little aquascaping. I am a bit sad over a couple hammers I lost that I particularly liked (a nice gold rainbow and a bright teal one), but I might run across them again.

Thanks for asking.

Me too... given the balance of reviews, I think I'll try. Any better options for quarantined fish? Just basic clowns, goby, purple fire fish.

@Thuan ain't paying those prices..lol
Ha, me either, but I didn't know what deals you may or may not get at this point.

I decided to chop my wolverine and nirvana colonies late last night in hopes to save them from STN.

Fishotel is good but limited in what they currently have. I think you can order and wait though. As far as prices...message Shane for a pack deal and see what you get...its always a good discount. Worst that can happen is you wait it out and hope and it's gone

I did. There's a pretty good amount of experiences out there using Cipro for in tank treatment. There's also lots of experiences around using the KFC dip, which has Cipro and amoxicillin.

Given the state of my tank (most things dead, not a lot lot of money into it, the severity and breadth of the issue, the small size and effort required to restart a small tank of I nuked it, and the lack of other culprits), I chose to combine the two and dose at double the recommended strength (I dosed the amoxicillin at the same rate as cipro, not a lot of info about amoxicillin concentrations) for 5 doses every other day.

I did a water change and ran Purit the day after the last dose. I also put in more nitrifying bacteria.

Nothing left was negatively impacted. I'm seeing improvement in health and the test octospawn isn't unhappy after 4 days.
