I was told "I dont love the idea but it's your area so do what you want" I am not sure how to take this comment, lol.... hmmmm. Sounds like a do it and then get yelled at for a bit until she realizes it was the right call to me
She will fall in love with it.... Everyone will.

I did not, though I do have a set of his plans for a Maloof rocker laying around somewhere that I hope to eventually use. The saw bench plans are from "Wood by Wright" and both of my Roubo's are generic based on YouTube videos.

A clean top? Pretty sure that's just a myth...

If you need a holding device near the back, I highly highly recommend Gramercy hold fasts. They will work anywhere you're willing to drill a dog hole. I use them more than either vise I think.

It's a gorgeous bench, you've got skill!
You mean a couple of these?

Hold fast are my number one thing to grab when I need something to stay put. I'd like to get a couple leather sleeves made for the contact area. They have never marred my work piece but I still would like it as a piece of insurance.

I built this a few months after the guild build finished. There were a few mods I wanted to make so didn't go directly off the plans.

I'd love to see a picture of yours.

Guess it’s time to see what kind of 180 6fts I can find and what the difference is. I guess outside of tank and rock you guys said mostly everything else from the 120 would work
Yes. Pretty much all kit for a 120 will be in the correct size range for a 180 as well

How much rock for a 180 assuming like 120-140lbs?
I would go with 40 pound box of dry Marco for the very bottom layer, 40 pounds of starter for the unseen but still beneficial to be alive stuff and 40 pounds of premium for what will be seen. Maybe 50...

Yes sir! Aren't they handy, I use them constantly. Leather sleeves would be nice for sure, I just use a sacrificial piece of wood between them and the work piece.

Sure, though mine aren't nearly as pretty as yours. The first I made about 8 years ago, the second just recently. Still haven't decided on the vise setup for the new one but leaning towards the BC. (The old one has my normal "clean top" haha) bonus pictures of the saw bench and Dutch tool chest.

Thanks!

My main user Disstons are a pair of D-23's from the 40's I believe.

Planes are a mixed bag. I started with some vintage users, but buy new most of the time now. Router plane and low angle jack are Veritas. #4 and block are Lie Nielsen. Standard #5 is a vintage "Bridge Tool Co" out of St. Louis. (Made by Seargant I believe) #7 is a cool vintage Siegley. I have a number of old Stanley's and woodies laying around as well that don't see much use these days.

How about you? (Sorry to derail your thread
