Yeah 13 months is good, I'm not sure what you started with but if dry they could easily still be maturing.
Rocks mature very slowly.
Just trying to toss something out there for the algae issue
Agree with @count krunk on the rocks. Mine are about as old as yours and FINALLY starting to mature and see signs of Coraline...and cyano and gha and....The rocks are 13 months old... the corraline is patchy but getting theres I scrape and seed it weekly.
So I did an easy little DIY project to convert one of my 5g Weco container caps into a "gas-can" type filling tube last week. Thought I would share it in action... man it makes my life so much easier...
At least until I can set up an auto-rodi-pump and line to do it for me.
Heres the video...
Hopefully I'll get to paint the sump door edges and the Tank Trim border is going black all black as well... already got the paint and materials. Gotta cover the tank before I put some #elbowgrease and 180grit to work to give the paint something to grab onto.
EXCELLENT!!! I love it!!!
Conch? They will eat almost anything, including cyano IME!
I just took this, in the s tank.
Looks like Cyano to me Ricky.... I have a cheap microscope (of course I would.... right) you can borrow if you want a proper identification.
Bring it over. Along with my acan colonies,
