I know you maybe selling it all off in the future and life is what it is at the moment. A beefier fuge light would probably help. Something in the 30-45 watt range would be adequate and had for 40/50 bucks.

The one I have now is the same as it was on my DIY hob chaeto fuge I made. The problem is that it melted with vibrant at half doses. Havent replaced it yet. No income.

Trying desperately not to sell off coral for macro. Let's see what the numbers show. I only have 7 fish in a 155g. The bioload barely keeps the bacteria fed. But I might be overfeeding. A cube a day of my frozen cubes I make with a mix of stuff. Rinses. No extra po4 coming in, idk...

Annoying when I've maintained weekly 10% wc's for the last 5 weeks.

Rich, this is what I run my hydra 26 HDs at

You sure it's not the start of coraline? My rocks were green before they started turning purple. if it doesn't just blow off with a baster then it could be...

It comes off with a blow and it's like a sheet of wet nori as it floats away... it looks like dense spider webs covered everything.

Agreed. Coralline often starts green. Many of my new spots did on the back and bare bottom. I will also state I go through algae phases all the time and my N and P are always very low. While they can contribute they are typically not the limiting factor. I am starting to think of it more it terms of competition. Right now, as you know, I am having major issues with Alkalinity and Calcium. Because my coralline and corals are struggling (or dying) there is no competition for the algae. I have a layer of hair and then a layer of Cyanobacteria covering the rocks over all the dead coralline. Just some food for thought.

Is there any detrimental effects to the tank chemistry if u try chemiclean for cyano, but you may not actually have any?

I cannot say, but I do not think I personally would ever use chemicals on a nuisance like hair algae or Cyanobacteria. Several use them with success, and several end up with dinoflagellates. Not judging. Just not my style.

Yea I am always scared to dose anything...

Try to let the chemistry works itself out. But its tiring.

I used chemiclean when the dinos 1st showed as I had cyano too. Did an awesome job with the cyano, but left the dinos. @mta_morrow has used chemiclean as well.

I have a friend from the lfs that did his as well, used a big air stone for oxygenation while he did it. Had great success. But idk if its cyano or algae. But I'm confident its algae.

You could try a 3 day blackout?

After the 52 hrs during transition in the upgrade I lost 30% of my corals and blastos had polyp bailout. These lights are never going dark. LoL.

Headed to bed. Idk. Maybe nutrient export and getting some macro growing in the fuge will help.

Gnite all

Too tired to test last night.. gonna smash a few coffees and get to it. I'm assuming I'm gonna find no3 and po4 higher than last testing. Which makes no sense consider the regular water changes and no differences in anything else for my routine. Results soon.
