I hope my worms are nice to mine! Do timors typically go for clams or pick on corals? Also got a clam. Hopefully my timor is nice to it
Timors are in the same family as Melanus wrasses but less aggressive. So they tend to eat smaller inverts for breakfast lunch and dinner if not already established. So hopefully the clam is big enough to not be a $60 meal. Every fish has their own personality thoI hope my worms are nice to mine! Do timors typically go for clams or pick on corals?
I'm hoping my timor and radiant are fine with the 3 I have coming, after all smaller Halichoeres are used to control pyramid snails on clams. Worst case scenario, I remove the clams and place them in a different system. Our plan is to feed the fish very well before adding the clams, and keep an eye on them throughout the day.Timors are in the same family as Melanus wrasses but less aggressive. I just purchased a clam jammer from BRS to hold it up on my rock work so hopefully it all works out!I can't keep anything on my sand bed in one of my tanks because of my melanaurus. He flings sand onto everything irritated my corals and Maxima's. Mine may just be a jerk though. Just find a quiet place if you can. Anything that swims around them or over them constantly will make them retract. Get some phyto to supplement him as well.

Yeah. Theyre in my cart for today if there's an after sale lol shhh don't tell anyone.
It'll be a stunner, for sure!
I couldn’t choose so I got this one at random lol
I also picked a bubble coral up at random since I might as well give it a shot.
For what it’s worth, I’ve never had a clam before but I bought a Crocea clam during this sale and everything I’ve seen says they like sps type lights and parameters. So personally I bought a clam jammer from BRS since they bore into the rock. This way I can move it if needed. I plan to place mine on my rock work at about 250-300 par.Btw what lights and PAR do you guys keep your clams at? having a discussion on a different thread and just want to compare for placement. @AquaSD
Yeah I got a couple places in my medium tank that would work. But one has 250-290 ish midway and other gets 400. Just want to acclimate and recreate appropriately lolFor what it’s worth, I’ve never had a clam before but I bought a Crocea clam during this sale and everything I’ve seen says they like sps type lights and parameters.
