I would advise against it.so keeping a little one in a 50 gallon tank for a year is a bad idea?
It is possible, though I wouldn't add a new one to an established one, as there will definitely be aggression.ok an other question? (my 100th at least Can 2 marine beta's be in the same tank. I have a 3 inch one and was maybe going to get one that is 2 inches?

I have two in mine, but I got them together, I have a 4'x2' tank, and even then the aggression was bad the first night, it settled down the next day, but there is a risk.[/QUOTE
Your hippo needs way more space than you have is 1 of the reasons for the others being stressed. They get a good size compared to the tangs in the bristletooth group. Not enough real estate.I have a 72 Bow front with a mixed reef, I am looking for the next family member. I have had bad luck with trying to add another tang, the last three have gotten stress and developed what ever and passed. The hippo tank has been in the tank for 10 months and has out lasted the other tangs I have tried to introduce. here is my stock list
1 hippo tang
1 matted file fish
1 eight line wrasse
2 yellow striped maroon clowns
1 orange star
2 peppermint shrimp, they were fired, and I brought in the file fish to eradicate the aiptasia
Cleaning crew
Agreed. Hippo tangs get way too large for a 72g. Try a bristletooth tang, such as a kole or tomini instead. And only one tang in a 75g.Your hippo needs way more space than you have is 1 of the reasons for the others being stressed. They get a good size compared to the tangs in the bristletooth group. I wouldn't recommend it, young tangs grow fast and all tangs need more room as adults.can you put a tang in a 40 if its small?
You can add a goby or a blenny, it should be fine.hi I'm new to the salty world of salt water tanks I am going nano as my first salt water tank it is going to be a ten gallon FOWLR tank I am getting it setup right now I have six blue leg hermitcrabs in there right now and I am getting an Ocellaris Clownfish can I put a goby or blenny in there with it or am I asking for trouble with this in mind I am running a bio wheel penguin 150 on it to
Potters and leopard wrasses can be challenging and when first introduced to aquaria need a lot of pods and a 25 just doesn't provide enough and if either reach adult size is ultimately too large for a 25g.25 gallon lagoon. 25 lbs live rock tunze skimmer.
Looking to add some fish not sure how many would be the max.
I would like one potters wrasse or leopard wrasse. Pair of clowns, pair of helfrichi firefish, flame back angle and possible a small shrimp goby? Any ideas if this is too many fish? Any suggestions? Thanks for the help

Also, maroon clowns can get pretty aggressive, especially if they start laying eggs.
You mentioned an 8line wrasse is it a n 8line flasher wrasse or Pseudocheilinus octotaenia. The flasher is fine, but the Pseudocheilinus can also get aggressive.
Having a few aggressive fish can certainly stress new fish out, and can definitely lead to untimely deaths.
If you don't have corals a dwarf angel will work. A marine betta or a small Halichoeres wrasse would work with the fish, but may eat inverts.Yes I know the hippo will have to be re homed or I go large in tank size.
I will do some research and find out what kind of 8 line I have.
The odd thing about it is everyone is getting along in the tank. Most of the time everyone hangs out the the nori feeding clip. Hence for my question, I would like to add one more fish to the group.

Then your options are very limited with what you currently have...I have corals, and two peppermint shrimp

It will work.well a yellow watch man goby work in a ten gallon fowlr tank I am also putting an Ocellaris Clownfish fish in there
Personally I feel that 5g is a little small for a clown and anemone, unless that is the sole inhabitant, but since you want zoas and soft corals, I would skip them.Looking for some advice stocking my 5 gallon nano reef. Want some zoas and soft corals so everything must be reef safe. I have been looking into getting a Goby or something else small but want to hear opinions on clowns anemones etc in a nano reef.
I want very very colorful fish!
