Looks like Mr. Clown finally found himself a host that isn't 3D printed! He's been hanging out in the toadstool all afternoon Now I feel bad about prepping the nano for him and the Mrs...

I've been spending most of today looking at the tank. Shhhh. Picked up a 35 degree reflector and seeing if I can fit it to a Noop light or the Reefbreeders Pico.

It doesn't fit on the Noopsyche Mini, not surprising there. But it's not horribly off, and the chips align with the hole. Just the glass bulb is too big.

If I could cut the inside aperture down a bit, I think it would fit over the bulb and sit flush with the Noop Mini. I THINK it is coated plastic, so maybe it won't be too hard to cut. Still, that's a $35 mistake otherwise... No idea what to use to cut it.

Would be ideal to get it fitted to the Noop. It gives good PAR and the reflector should beam it mostly onto the clam.

A Dremel with a sanding disk, or an angle grinder with a cut off wheel. Or you could try a brand new razor blade and shave it back little by little if the plastic is soft enough. Or a disk sander or belt sander, depending on what you have access to.

I'll look into that. If the clam survives I'll probably go ahead and cut the reflector to size.

It's late and I'm waiting for the rain to slow down to take out my elderly greyhound for his midde-of-the-night-pee-so-he-can-make-it-till-morning. He's my good good boy, so I don't care.

Anyway, might as well make a list of things I want for the tank! In no particular priority order:

1. A lighting solution for clams. I can't guarantee I won't come home with another clam from CFM on Saturday. It looks like I might be able to get the reflector to work with the Noopsyches if I get into some real man tools, but we'll see!

2. Fix the gyre situation on the left side so I can run dual gyres; either sell off the Maxspects for a Jebao SCP-70 + Jebao SCP-50 or figure out how to make the left gyre only run on one side (the side away from the nems). That or win a Nero 3 or mp10 from the TSA Giveaway!

NEWSFLASH! It looks like there IS an single end cap for the xf330 that is not listed on any website anywhere on the interwebs, but if you talk directly to the US Maxspect distributor then you MIGHT be able to get one. Fingers crossed!

3. Swap out the Reef Factory doser for the Simplicity doser that has been under my desk for months; it is just a horribly annoying task to do at work, since I have to shut down everything, scrape out siliconed holes in the mini fridge, re-rig new doser tubing/wiring through the holes and re-silicone up the holes... does anyone hear a wailing baby somewhere? Right.

4. Buy a Plank autofeeder and remake or get a new lid that works with the Plank. Gonna have to sell a lot more nems...

5. New air stones, b/c looks like I'll need to flux the out of control bubble algae again.

6. Fish quarantine supplies for a super secret top security project. Need-to-know-basis folks, need-to-know. And no, it is definitely above your pay grade, so don't ask.

7. Carbon and more RODI supplies.

I used an old oceanic salt jug for years on my biocube, but upgraded to a 5 gal jug to extend my refill intervals a bit! Felt bad when I threw the jug in recycle as oceanic salt hadn't been made in a decade or so by then.

I used an old oceanic salt jug for years on my biocube, buy then upgraded to a 5 gal jug to extend my refill intervals a bit! Felt bad when I threw the jug in recycle as oceanic salt hadn't been made in a decade or so by then.

I like this because it has a lid that I can open for easy refilling. Looks slightly better too since it stays on the desktop. I wasn't about to drop $100+ on a plastic container.

That, my dear reader, is an AT-AT, custom built by @tbrown . His wrasses have been scheming to bring it down but lack the cables or any other type of cord to clip it at the legs. Perhaps if Tim had placed some macroalgae, but alas, so much for the rebel resistance.
