looks great in there! Mine didn't have and hasn't put out any byssal threads.

hows the shroom look?
Haven't gotten to see it yet, since I added everything late last night. It looked in good shape when I dipped it, but couldn't see any colors since the LEDs were off and only had the office lights on. Dying to see the clam, zoas and shroom, but it's a day off at the office and family might protest...

I'm off today too! I haven't dared set up a sw tank in my office, but I do have a 14 gal fresh water tank in the office with shellies in it. I spotted my first batch of babies right before the weekend, so I share you anxiousness to go back to the office and check it out!

Then and now series

@Goaway Here ya go!

Space Invader Pectinia:
Got my pectinia for $5 from a local reefer in Jan 2023. It went into my Evo for a while until my office 40 was set up. It was very very small:

Things really took off once it was in the office tank. It was transferred in June, 2023 when I shut down the Evo and moved everything to the Office 40.

In less than stellar news, the hippopus continues to stay closed. I've seen it open a bit, but only a small slit. Never REALLY opening:

This is the max I've seen him open up today:
1708458844305.jpeg

@minus9 @shakacuz @Miami Reef @SCReef'n Any thoughts on this one? Any ideas on coaxing it open a bit more (non-invasively, of course)? Just blast it with light? Or should it get a ramp-up? I understand clams self-acclimate to light. I don't think it will be getting too much, since it should be getting 200 PAR from the Noops and I have a Reefbreeder that should be adding an additional 50-100 for it. It was under T5s at AquaSD, and Kaleb thinks maybe 300 PAR from the T5s. Adding a 35 degree reflector today to boost a bit more. It should also be exposed to broadcasted PhytoFeast, ROE and OysterFeast 4x/day from the liquid food doser.

Other additions from Sun night:
Lava Lamp Shroom
1708458725930.jpeg

Hopefully will color up some more.

Hard to get a shot of the blue disk/green skirt zoas "Blue Sinatras" as ASD calls them

can't really coerce the clam to open up. it will do so on its own, however, i am a bit concerned due to not seeing any of the mantle on the one picture you showed where it was slightly opened. keep water stable and hopefully it opens up for you.

These are the best photos I can get so far. You can just see the excurrent siphon (but not well in the photos)

In other news, my neglect of the zoas on the sand bed has resulted in several mounds of dome-shaped zoa colonies. Actually doesn't look all that bad.

Those Rasta's in the background are awesome! Is that Blue Hornets in the front right?
Wait, is today a holiday or a work day?...
Work day here for me....unfortunately...

Shot in the dark but if its not attached to the rubble rock you have in there, might try a clam hammock. Brightwell says- Open, porous “foamed aragonite” composition is readily and rapidly adhered to by bivalves. They are huge, I took bone cutters, trimmed to fit, and seemed to adhere in a few days. My experience is very small and a poor track record lol, just a thought! Your other new additions are BEAUTIFUL!

I bought those from a local reefer that called them "rainbow hornets". I call them purty.

I've been spending most of today looking at the tank. Shhhh. Picked up a 35 degree reflector and seeing if I can fit it to a Noop light or the Reefbreeders Pico.

It doesn't fit on the Noopsyche Mini, not surprising there. But it's not horribly off, and the chips align with the hole. Just the glass bulb is too big.
1708475441891.jpeg

1708475450829.jpeg

If I could cut the inside aperture down a bit, I think it would fit over the bulb and sit flush with the Noop Mini. I THINK it is coated plastic, so maybe it won't be too hard to cut. Still, that's a $35 mistake otherwise... No idea what to use to cut it.
1708475539071.jpeg

Would be ideal to get it fitted to the Noop. It gives good PAR and the reflector should beam it mostly onto the clam.
