I got a box of Harbor Freight junk that I loan out. When that cheap o wrench doesn’t come back then I just learned a cheap lesson on who to trust…
Same deal with money, you are good for the first 20 or fifty. You won’t get a second shot; another cheap lesson…
I never ask for or borrow money…

“Dad you got 20” ?
“Son you need to get a Job”

“Dad you got 100, lights might get shut off”
“Son don’t you have a job”?
You have tester tools to gauge people's trustworthiness? You my friend have set an unattainable precedence for the rest of us.

This. Lesson learned. Sometimes I leave cash laying around if somebody new coming over. Rather lose 20$ and learn early than possibly trust the wrong person and get taken to the cleaners

I have a nice pair of Jamo's and a pair of Missions I can loan.....need an excuse to get Wharfdale's....
MIL sold a pair of Wharfdale floor standers (can't remember model) about 10 years ago when the moved... at a yard sale for $100. Somebody either knows they got the deal of the century or cluelessly got it.

My current HT speakers (Mirage Omni Polars, 10" amplified sub in bases)

But that is not enough Bass for HT so I designed and built some base reflex cabinets around some custom wound 18's (by Nick) from Stereo Integrity. Yes, they are THAT big. They are are pretty flat (Linkwitz Transform) to down below 20Hz - and can handle as much power as I can pump into them to get them there. Insane. Monster end tables!

And with that - thanks everyone for reminding me that I loaned out two Vintage Soundcraftsman monsters so a guy could run subs at his pool part 15 years ago... and they are still there I suppose.

Somewhere someplace I have some Advent Legacy IIs - some baby advents and a Pair of Cerwin Vega AT15's (not "musical") but certainly could belt out some amazing classic rock!

The HT power comes from Sunfire Cinema Grands... the buttkickers in the seats (I don't care so much for them) and the subs are powered by QSC adn behringer... but wow I wish I had those Class H soundcraftsmans back

Yup. And I'll put some in strange places, not just out in the open where they would figure I could notice. Behind bathroom door, in the couch, under my bed, junk drawer, etc. Only caught 1 person like this(in the house), I normally weed them out before getting this far... but always testing. If life has taught me one thing- it's that trust should be earned. And once broken, it can never fully be recovered. And trying to do something is just as bad as doing it.

Makes my 18" stroker look like a wee babby lol.
Yeah but back in the 80's and 90's those Stroker 18's were insane. They were never meant for car audio BTW. They were sound reinforcement drivers meant for big slot loaded horns where non linearity on long excursion would destroy voice coils due to them rubbing the side of the gap.

Not to go into “full creep mode” here but besides jacking my classic vinyl, some of my “Appalachian” family member were steeling the woman’s “unmentionables” … it just sends shivers …:confounded-face::drooling-face::oops:
…wish there were cameras everywhere… but not really LOL

I wouldn’t waste my energy giving this guy benefit of the doubt, but hopefully he will reconnect and give you some phony long-winded excuse and return your property

Ive sadly learned the hard way there’s a number of people out there that (even if you had a positive relationship with them) are ultimately moral-less and would steal your grandma if the opportunity arose…

Cleaned up some posts and posts quoting posts. Please let’s keep it from getting personal or political. Thanks.

A member posted a build thread and in that thread I offered a sump for sale. They messaged with me, wanted it, sent me the money, and I mailed them the sump. I rate the transaction A+. Both parties happy and good communication

We started talking and they were friendly and asking questions about their build and I was offering advice and help

Through convo they mentioned they need a skimmer. I had a spare skimmer for their size tank, I offered it for sale, they wanted it, they paid me. So far this dude seems legit

He has lighting questions. I told him he needs par readings, and out of kindness and due to two successful payments and weeks of dms, I offered to include my par meter in the package with the skimmer I was shipping and said he could borrow it for a few week and mail it back when he’s got the readings. He happily agreed.

Then he started saying he needs to wait for his sister to loan him a laptop to take readings because he didn’t have one. I was blown off week after week and was trying to be patient but felt like excuses sometimes seemed repetitive

Then he disappears from forum for weeks and no messages answered. He finally came back and said he would send it back that week and he never did.

I want my par meter back. I don’t think he’s a scammer I think he has a busy life and mentioned kids going through potty training, work having long hours, and the build going slow due to life.

I want my par meter back and he’s not answering Gmail emails, forum messages, and I even sent a PayPal invoice for the meter with a note saying please send it back or pay for it; and I have no response.

Anyone in or near Franklin, NC? Get my par meter in a box mailed back to me, I’ll pay the sh, and I’ll send you a reward - PayPal cash or if you want to split sh, I’ll send you a Cynarina. That’s right. A 250-300$ coral if you want it.

Someone help me please. I have the address and name. Seems like a nice guy who just got busy and put me on the way way back burner. This was sent in June. It’s been long enough.
NEVER issue a PAE meter without 60-70% vslue as a refundable deposit. Even my local clubs require deposit. I sure hope this comes back to you.
If time goes by, I wonder if you can get police involved or take court action and garnish him?

Ye, super efficient and definitely don't like small enclosures.
In fact - when they first came out, you couldn't buy the drivers. I think they came in cabinets only.

I was at MES in Atlanta in maybe 1990? 1991? And the CV booth had them, more to show them off but had no plans to sell them to car audio. It was just brand awareness show off.
