You haven't had much luck being a nice guy.......maybe time to change that attitude LOL......
I wish I knew what happened with that skimmer

AFAIK we both were understanding with the transaction / situation and chalked it up as a wash.

A member suggested I call the police and ask them to do a wellness check since I haven’t heard from this person in so long. I will do that
A while back, had a guy not show up to work for 3 days after receiving a inheritance, so we called in a wellness check. He ended up doing 9 months when the cops saw all the drugs on the table.. but at least he's alive, (I think)

Any time I loan something, I do it with the expectation that it will not return or will return damaged or missing parts.

I don’t like to borrow and if I do, I feel responsible for replacement if something breaks or is damaged. I replace what I broke, even if it means buying the entire borrowed item as new to return. I don’t have to be asked, but most people do.

Right now I am missing a 22 pound sledge, Stihl power head, and an ignition timing light… framing nailer roofing nailer and goodness knows what else. Last pressure washer I lent out came back with a blown head. I don’t like to loan stuff and I don’t like the awkwardness of chasing stuff down.

Sorry to hear about this @VintageReefer . You've been nothing but accommodating of my, and many other's questions since I joined r2r. I can say 100% I would have nowhere near the knowledge or success in this hobby without your patiencewith my 10,000 questions. Keep doing your thing man. This says a lot about both of you guys. He would've been better off to return the par meter and keep you as a source and wealth of knowledge. I don't know man, we don't live too far away. grin.gif
Road trip ??

To me, it feels like something happened to the meter. Broken or thrown away and no money to pay for it?

How much was your meter? Between rewards and everything else you've offered, it may just be cheaper to buy another.

I got a box of Harbor Freight junk that I loan out. When that cheap o wrench doesn’t come back then I just learned a cheap lesson on who to trust…
Same deal with money, you are good for the first 20 or fifty. You won’t get a second shot; another cheap lesson…
I never ask for or borrow money…

“Dad you got 20” ?
“Son you need to get a Job”

“Dad you got 100, lights might get shut off”
“Son don’t you have a job”?
