So sorry to hear about the mag! That is a huge bummer. The CSB is nice, but I think you'll want to try another mag fairly soon haha. They are addictive.
I actually live locally to you, if you ever try another mag I can get you Cipro through my dad's vet clinic. I usually have a stockpile of it for my Cynarina as I collect them lol. More and more ARC members are joining the Mag Gang and I love to see it
the tank is looking better and better. Still in love with the group of blackcaps you've got ♥️ one of my all time favorite fish.

Hah, you're probably right. I'll end up trying a Mag again, but will reach out beforehand to make sure I've got access to it if needed. I thought I'd have more time between starting to show issues and starting to melt, but it was literally only 24-36 hours. Next time I'll pull it and treat the first it fully deflates during a full light cycle.

The blackcaps are so much fun. They have giant personalities, always opening their mouths at each other and spitting sand. Loveable little grumps.

Vinegar dosing up to 150 mls per day. Noticing a lot of 'snot' like bacteria growth in the slow areas of the sump and skim volume has definitely picked up. Nutrients seem to be dropping as well. Score!

The sunburst is doing great. It ate a tiny bit of shrimp today and hasn't budged from its spot. No hosting yet, weird considering how quickly my clown dove into the Malu and Mag.

What kind of clown is it? I have had ocellaris variants and they wouldn’t go near any of my bta’s which is almost impossible considering the number of splits I have in a relatively small space. Current clown only goes into one specific zoa patch which is on its own island. Clowns are weird.

Slowed the vinegar dosing back down to 100 mls per day. Was worried about dropping nitrates too fast. Seems to have done the trick;

N: 19.1
P: 0.14 (Paused Phasphat-E dosing when I got the .03 reading, restarting)

They're both ocellaris long-tail variants. In my previous tank I had an ocellaris eventually host with a red BTA, but it took months for them to pair up.

A few tank shots for your Saturday. The new anemone is doing fantastic, eaten a few times and I swear has already doubled in size.

My BC Spainbow has oddly browned out. Wonder if it's a reaction to the vinegar dosing or just upset about nitrates dropping too fast from ~50 to ~17. Still lots of PE, so hopefully they color back up quickly. All the other acros look happy.

I also picked up another of those Elegance corals. They're so nice!

Guess I backed off too far on the vinegar dosing. At 100 ml per day my nitrates creeped back up. Increasing it to 135 ml per day.

This guy just moved into the QT tank. Excuse the poor quality photo, I'm keeping the lights down and had to zoom in so he wouldn't hide. I can already tell he's a feisty one, attacking his reflection within minutes of being put in the tank (when he can't see me).

No change in Nitrates yet from the vinegar increase.

Apparently he got lonely enough to try the funny smelling anemone. Seems to have won him over.

The Achilles tang was looking healthy and getting braver with no sign of any nasties. Into the acclimation box to meet the gang.

So far so good. A little bit of fin flaring, but no real aggression with the two purple tangs.

Wonder if the previous ~17 Nitrate reading was a test issue. Even back up at 135 ml per day, I'm not getting nearly as sharp a reduction.

Rearranged some corals on the right side after a snail knocked a few over. I think it looks nicer this way.
