@AquaSD had some really nice stuff on clearance, I couldn't help myself.

Here's some really cool grafted Favia that's purple with a yellow rim and some of the heads are splashed with teal. I'm thinking of putting these on the bottom bit of the anemone rock.

Some purple and green acan bowerbanki. These will be a great contrast to the red orange acans I've got keeping the softies in line.

They had these labeled generally as australian leathers (with a similarly low price), but check out those sclerites, definitely a nice nephthea or stereonephthya.

Tbh it looks quite similar to the frag of Koji Wada Pink Nephthea I'd tried before, but way bigger frags. Looking forward to seeing if I can get more color out of them.

Did a little bit of rescaping to add the bowerbanki and nephthea, but ran out of glue to finish things up. Here's a preview.

The vinegar dosing is working great for controlling my nitrates.

More glue came so I finished gluing down the new stuff. Pretty sure I'm out of room on the softie/LPS side now. Amazon must think I'm some sort of weird super glue enthusiast.

Love it. Everything is looking great. This whole concept you are doing is very cool.

No tricks or Photoshop, that's how it looks to the naked eye. Absolutely glows.

New row of blueberry montipora next to the beach bums. Nitrates continue to drop. Will probably cut back a little on vinegar dosing now.

Decided to finally buy some tank insurance

Emergency mode run time (pumps only, no heater, no lights)

How much run time do you get running both your MP60's and your Abyzz A100 return from your Ecoflow Delta 2?

I'm looking to get one to run 2xMP60's and a Vectra L2.

I've got the Delta 2 + Extra Battery because I also run my PC and Network off of it too. Once those are turned off and it's just the 2 MP60s, Return, Skimmer Pump, Scrubber Pump, Apex, and Heater it gets around 50-55 hours total. Around 24 hours with the PC and Network on.

I’m planning out an 83g 48x20x20 that will be LPS dominant. Really want to incorporate a mangrove (red) into the DT.

Do you think I could modify an acclimation box and connect it to the inside of the tank (toward the top back center) and use that to root the mangrove? Could I then still use it to introduce new fish?

The other idea was to build the scape up and then put the acclimation box on top and camouflage it with rubble rock or something, so it looks like it is growing out of the reef.

Thoughts?

I think all those ideas could work, as long as you have a good plan for how to get your tank lid on and off without having to go up over the plant.

Your best bet would probably be a two piece lid with the seem between the two pieces where you want the mangroves growing. Then each side has a half circle cut out where the mangroves are, then you can take one or both sides off without having to go up and over.

I took the easy way out and just used the space behind where the lid didn't cover.

Yeah, the lid will be an interesting mod. I have access to a 3d printer and a laser cutting machine. Was thinking I could custom build it around the opening and then have a separate 2-piece top for the box that the mangroves are in that I can pull off as needed.

Still getting the hang of carbon dosing. As of my last update my nitrates were starting to get pretty low, they had fallen to just over ~10. I didn't want them to bottom out entirely, so I dialed my dosing from 140 ml/day to 100 ml/day about a week ago.

I noticed a little bit of cyano starting to come back, and today my N tested at 31.2! So I set my vinegar dosing back to 140 ml/day and I'll see what happens next time I get down around 10 N, hopefully it'll just stabilize there or I'll make a much smaller adjustment.

N: 31.2
