See, my clown knows what I'm going for. He's waiting patiently.

This Elegance coral from @AquaSD looks even better in person than it did in the pictures. Definitely one of the nicest I've seen, and it was less than $100!

Vinegar dosing now fully ramped up to 100 ml per day. Seeing a nice reduction in nitrates. I think my last reading was elevated due to my anemone.

Got my H. Magnifica from @CoralsAnonymous yesterday. It was delayed an extra 24 hours due to unexpected bad weather here in Georgia, but thanks to their impressive packaging and insulation (seriously A++), everything seemed to be ok!

Initially the anemone seemed stressed, didn't really inflate, and was pretty unresponsive, but the mouth was closed and it felt sticky. Under my lighting it's a very pretty lavender color with green tips and a brown/green base/foot.

I had to leave the pumps off for about 2-3 hours for it to unfurl its foot enough to start actually gripping onto its tile and the clownfish immediately started hosting it. It finally settled onto the tile and started feeling for the edge so I turned the pumps back on and it held and moved back away from the edge of the tile.

This morning it was more inflated and the mouth was still closed so I fed it a scallop which stuck to its tentacles immediately and was quickly eaten. Here's some quick non-color corrected photos;

Seems quite healthy so far, keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to get settled in well.

Beautiful anemone. I hope it decides to stay put there where you want it on the tile. My experience is only with bubble tips and they just go wherever, lol. Now that I have a large herd of them it's very annoying.

Yeah I specifically wanted a species of anemone that didn't split and was fairly easy to contain based on their preferences and behaviors. H. Malu and H. Magnifica seem to be the easiest to keep under control if you can get them healthy!

Spreading its foot out more today and it's staying consistently inflated at about this level. Mouth staying mostly closed and it didn't spit up the scallop.

Overfed the tank trying to catch the transitioning female Watanabe, so my nutrients are a little high again, but phosphates looking good.

Taking some pictures of euphyllia island this morning. Things are growing in nicely, and this elegance continues to blow me away.

I did spot this guy on the glass though... Is it what I think it is? (Nightmare murder worm?)

I removed it with extreme prejudice just to be safe.

Anemone isn't doing so hot. The last few days it's barely inflated and fell off the tile. This morning the mouth was gaping. I'm pretty sure it's a bacterial infection but I haven't been able to get any Cipro locally. :(

Sorry to hear it. I don't know much about those type of news but they are pretty susceptible to those kinds of infections aren't they? Is Cipro something you could get from a vet?

I had to remove the anemone this evening as it had started to melt and the mouth was gaping completely open. Shocking how fast it went from partially inflating/eating to melting. I won't attempt another Mag without Cipro on hand to treat at the first sign of trouble.

Well fine, I'll join the cult of BTA. Local reefer gave me a great deal on a Colorado Sunburst, so even if it splits in the future I'll be able to sell the babies. I understand the hype now, brightest anemone I've owned, even under whites.

So sorry to hear about the mag! That is a huge bummer. The CSB is nice, but I think you'll want to try another mag fairly soon haha. They are addictive.
I actually live locally to you, if you ever try another mag I can get you Cipro through my dad's vet clinic. I usually have a stockpile of it for my Cynarina as I collect them lol. More and more ARC members are joining the Mag Gang and I love to see it
the tank is looking better and better. Still in love with the group of blackcaps you've got ♥️ one of my all time favorite fish.
